Autogewalt und Hilflosigkeit. Petition gegen Autogewalt.

Ich war gestern in einer schnurgeraden Straße Nahe der Innenstadt zu Fuß unterwegs, wo Tempo 30 gilt. In der Ferne habe ich einen Motor aufheulen gehört und kurz drauf kam ein schicker neuer Mercedes über die Kuppe gerast mit locker Tempo 70.

Ich war leider dumm genug, um meinen Arm zu heben, um anzuzeigen, dass ich das scheiße finde, wie der die Straße durchrast.

Joa war ein Fehler. Denn der Fahrer hat auf dieser schnurgeraden Straße einen dicken Schlenker auf mich zu gemacht. Ich hab zum Glück komplett auf dem Bürgersteig gestanden, aber mehr als einen halben Meter Abstand hatte es nicht mehr zum Auto, das erst mit 70 auf mich zu und dann an mir vorbei gerast ist. Der hätte auch locker die Kontrolle verlieren können und ich tot sein können (Olgaeck, anyone?).

Im Auto: Vier junge Kerle. Der Fahrer wollte offensichtlich den dicken Max raushängen lassen vor seinen Buddies.

Ich habe mir das halbe Kennzeichen merken können bevor der außer Sicht war. Ich habe es angezeigt (mit einem Zeugen), aber der Polizist hat sehr klar gemacht, dass es keine Aussicht auf irgendeine Art Erfolg gibt. Fahrer wird nicht ermittelt werden können und dann wird es eingestellt. Eventuell sogar schon vorher, weil "kein öffentliches Interesse". Das Stichwort hat mich aber an was erinnert und deswegen möchte ich für diese Petition hier werben. Es ist unfassbar, wie man mit einem Auto einfach Leute ohne Konsequenzen bedrohen und/oder mit verhältnismäßig minimalen Konsequenzen töten kann.

We may have underestimated sea-level rise. But are we also underestimating the real cause of the climate crisis?

A recent Nature study suggests something alarming: most coastal flood risk assessments have been underestimating sea levels because of flawed baseline assumptions. Researchers found that actual coastal water levels are often 20–30 cm higher than previously assumed, and in some places the difference exceeds 1 meter.

The implications are serious. Millions more people may be at risk of flooding than we previously believed, with the greatest impact falling on poorer coastal communities that contributed the least to climate change.

Sea levels rise because ice melts and oceans warm, and both happen because of the heat trapped by gases we've been pumping out for two centuries ; Mostly from burning coal, oil, and gas to run economies built on the assumption that more production and more consumption equals a better life.

So if you're asking "who is behind it," the honest answer isn't a villain. It's every structure industrial, corporate, personal that has treated the planet as an infinite input for a want that never says "enough."

You can point at corporations and governments, and there's real truth in that, they've known for decades and delayed action for profit. However, it's worth asking a serious question here, why blame it on someone else? It's worth asking, quietly, whether your own life runs on the same logic that's heating the oceans comfort prioritized over consequence, convenience over accounting for the trail left behind.

Acharya Prashant Ji repeatedly points toward the root of the problem that is not carbon itself, but the ego that is driven by endless consumption, insecurity, and the constant urge to acquire more.

As long as our happiness depends on consuming more, extracting more, and producing more, every technological solution will eventually run into the same wall. We may reduce emissions, improve flood models, or build higher seawalls, but if the underlying psychology remains unchanged, the crisis simply changes its form.

Climate justice, then, isn't only about distributing resources fairly. It's also about asking deeper questions:

Why do we consume far beyond our needs?

Why is endless economic growth treated as non-negotiable?

Can there be sustainability without inner contentment?

Is the environmental crisis ultimately a crisis of consciousness?

I'd love to hear what others think. Can climate change really be addressed without first addressing the "I" that creates it?

Climate adaption is undoubtedly the single greatest false solution to climate change ever conceived by humanity. Adaption robs present and future generations of the better climate which used to exist. What adaption does is that it forces us to live in a worse world which is a crime against present and future generations when the expertise to restore the world exists.

A "restoration only" free climate action framework consists of two steps. A short term step and a long term step. The short term step needs to be implemented first before the long term step.

Short term step:

- Use Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion to conduct thermodynamic geoengineering by cooling the ocean surface while generating carbon neutral power to contribute to decarbonization

(The deep sea nutrients can be extracted from OTEC systems condenser outflows and sold as sustainable fertilizer to prevent eutrophication)

- Use Marine Cloud Brightening in the arctic and antarctic circles to stabilize the jet stream by re-establishing a temperature gradient between the equator and poles

These solutions should be used to stabilize earths climate until CDR can restore Earths climate to its pre-industrial state.

Long term step:

- Use the following CDR methods to get atmospheric CO2 back to 280 PPM

  1. Biochar
  2. Regenerative agriculture
  3. Enhanced rock weathering

All of these CDR methods should be implemented after carbon neutrality is established to ensure that the work as climate restoration assets rather than emissions off-setters

Climate adaption is a parasite that diverts money and time away from both the short term and long term steps of "restoration only" climate action. This plain and simply is why climate adaption is the greatest false solution ever conceived. Climate adaption is consuming money and time to ensure we live in a worse world instead of a better world.

CO2 fertilization effect exaggerated in Earth system models

Overestimated natural biological nitrogen fixation translates to an exaggerated CO2 fertilization effect in Earth system models by Sian Kou-Giesbrecht, Carla R. Reis Ely, Steven S. Perakis, and Nina Wurzburger.

In brief, the Earth system models, including climate models used in the IPCC report, have overestimated by about 11% the degree by which wild plants growth improves under higher CO2 aka CO2 fertilization. Although 11% does not sound huge, this shall significantly decrease the effects of land carbon sinks.

There is a video discussion at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywxdWD6NqE8 which brings up some related work, including one paper that suggests methods for improving nitrogen bio-availability in natural eco-systems, but this paper says known methods appears highly ecosystem dependent.
