Hi, this is going to be a one-off post from me, just as a reminder that the series premiered on Friday, since it seems to be missing an on-air so far. If anyone's interested in picking up the on-airs, please do so.

CEO P'Tha on madX Creative Creature Talk

A snippet was shared in another post, but I thought it might be worth sharing the original full interview as well. It only has auto-generated subtitles so far.

Most of the points have previously been shared, but there are a few new things that caught my attention:

  • Talking mascots were an accident, after Tay made Polcasan talk and the cuteness impressed P'Tha so much that he decided that day to make it a core agenda going forward. They even reassigned staff from some underperforming shows to work on the mascots instead.
  • He confirmed that Gemm House is a café, and it will be something like a miniature theme park town based on the mascots. He said this was a dream that they'd had for several years, but wern't convinced of its potential until they saw how big the mascots had become and started the project around the end of last year.
  • The first phase of Fanarium is expected to launch in the next 2-3 months.
  • Talking about recruitment, he mentioned that they sometimes have their staff reach out to invite people for discussions, but also quickly added that you'll know that they're not fake only if they ask to meet at the office on the 30th floor, and not ask you to come alone, and not ask for any payments.
  • On work satisfaction, he says that encountering problems is of course normal, but he tries to communicate to all the staff and artists to come forward and discuss things if they're unhappy with work for whatever reason.
  • Asked about how he tells the artists to deal with fans, he says he emphasizes to them understanding, awareness, and mindfulness (ความเข้าใจ ความรู้เท่าทัน และสติ). He says that everyone needs to be mindful (มีสติ), not just Khun Thee. (There's a P'Tha joke for you.) He tries to remind the artists to use mindfulness and intelligence when engaging with social media.

Funny how all the major studios suddenly decided it's back-to-school season

Especially considering how most of these upcoming 2026 (or so) shows are also returning to lighter themes, while the last three years saw quite a few dark and outlandish ones.

Before When Oranges Fall ends, four school BLs will be airing concurrently, and again from mid-August till the end of September. Might even go up to five if Weirdo-101 comes out sooner than later.

Let's talk a bit about resale tickets

It's an issue people don't like to acknowledge, so it's not talked about much, but we can't deny the fact that nowadays it's often so difficult to secure tickets to major concerts and events that fans have few options but to buy from ticket resellers.

As Mantra shared in the above Fraud Fighters clip (and Michiru also had a similar story in ep. 2), scams are a pretty common occurrence. It's one of the reasons this subreddit disallows reselling and buying here. But I think it would be helpful to discuss the practice and share some general advice.

You probably know the basics about the practice. While some resellers may be genuine fans unexpectedly unable to attend the event, the vast majority are likely scalpers looking to profit from excess demand, where people are willing to pay higher prices for a ticket than its face value.

While the practice is pretty much universally detested, fans wanting to attend an event for which they weren't able to get tickets face a dilemma: do they boycott the scalpers and miss the event, or give in to the outrageously inflated prices? While some choose to boycott as the right thing to do, it would only work if everyone did so, and there most likely will be someone desperate enough to pay.

A related practice is ticket-buying proxies, who will take your order before ticketing opens and help secure tickets for a flat fee. On the surface they don't look so bad, but they still might be using malicious methods such as bots to outcompete other genuine buyers.

And then there are the frequent scams which permeate the scene. Recent news reports told of hundreds of victims who recently lost millions of baht to a gang of scammers, especially over BTS's current world tour.

Short of event organizers implementing strict ID-check policies so that no one but the named buyer can enter the venue, which would make resold tickets worthless, there's not much that fans can do but be vigilant and protect themselves from these scams.

There are articles, such as this Thairath piece (Google Translate), that go over the common tactics employed by scammers. But even knowing this, most transactions are done through social media, which doesn't make it easy to verify sellers' identities. And it's even harder for international fans unfamiliar with the cultural context.

The only more-or-less sure way to buy from a reseller is to meet in person and pay upon receipt of the physical ticket then and there.

It's also important to check the conditions for each event. While some events allow tickets to be transferred and/or to be picked up by someone else using a copy of the buyer's ID and a signed power-of-attorney form, recent GMMTV events (since Blush Blossom 2026) do not allow this, and require that the actual ID card or passport with the number used to buy the ticket be provided upon ticket collection. This means that resellers providing a photocopy of their ID and power-of-attorney form for pick-up will not work.

Recently, a third-party ticket resale website called Tixxa .co has been gaining attention as an intermediary platform facilitating transactions without the need for direct contact between buyers and sellers. I do not have experience with them, but apparently how it works is that the buyer pays through Tixxa, which acts as an escrow and holds onto the money until delivery of the ticket is completed and confirmed.

While the service offers a level of safety from scams (for a 3% fee), it also gives easy visibility and a huge level of convenience to resellers, who are free to set prices without any policy restrictions. This has started to make the site's name rather unpopular among fans, as it's becoming perceived as a facilitator, and even legitimizer, of price-gouging scalpers.

They were also making self-promotional social media posts in the form of artist profile videos, which recently prompted a message from GMMTV presumably demanding their removal.

So... that's the context that I can offer. I won't say if it's right or wrong to buy resale tickets or use these services, since each person's circumstances will be different. But so long as the practice lasts, I hope we can at least help prevent people from falling victim to scams on top of the price gouging.

I'd like to hear your thoughts. What do you think of the issue? Are there things you think can be done to improve the situation? Or do you perhaps have direct experience or specific advice to share?

Seating and capacity numbers for some events and venues

Since this seems to be info people are interested in, I compiled seating capacity numbers for some of the venues that GMMTV uses for their ticketed events.

The maximum capacity numbers provided by the venues will in most cases be for a fully packed theatre configuration, so once space is made for concert staging and rigging, the actual number of seats will be lower. Events using the same venue will also slightly differ depending on the configuration and the shape of the catwalk and B-stage.

Right now, the only known way to find out the number of an event's ticketed seats is to manually count them on the TTM website while tickets are on sale, so there are only a few data points so far. I'll update the post as more becomes known.

Another rendition of the Moderndog song ก่อน (Before) featured in last week's Ticket to Heaven episode, from Dew (2019)

Both Dew and Ticket to Heaven are set in 1996, two years after the song was released with Moderndog's debut album.

In this scene, >!after a certain development in their relationship, Dew finds the next morning that Pob ghosted him but had submitted an assignment to translate the song lyrics in his name.!<

Ohm was 18 and won the Bangkok Critics' Assembly Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Dew.

Poor Justin is going to have trust issues from this...

From Thursday's Live House.

  • Keaton: Can I go splat with this?
  • Neo: You've been watching too much slapstick! Here, this is how we do it at GMMTV.
  • Justin: Let's not prank him like that.
  • Keaton: If we go cute with it, it won't be fun for the fans.
  • Justin: P'Neo is a man of age, he'll...
  • Keaton: He'll be upset? No, he's experienced in life, he won't be upset with such a small thing.
  • Keaton: I'll just do it cute.
  • Justin: Excuse me, P'
  • Neo: I'll teach you how we do things at GMMTV.

Tle and James of Nungnarong reaction channel explaining the reason of Thai TV viewers' channel loyalty in their reaction to When Oranges Fall

Well, TBH they weren't intentionally explaining it. But they talked about how back in the day, you practically could only get good reception for one channel at a time. This helps explain why a lot of Thai TV viewers will habitually tune into one channel and never change it, which in turn results in the TV ratings pattern where the numbers are highly dependent on the channel and can't really be compared between them.

This is excerpted from a longer video I posted on the Boyslove sub of Thai reaction channels reacting to When Oranges Fall episode 1. Most reaction-makers here are Millennials and thus precisely the intended audience of When Oranges Fall's targeted late-90s nostalgia, and their reactions show quite well how effective it is. I don't want to make a duplicate post, so take a look there if you haven't seen it.

Thai reaction channels reacting to When Oranges Fall episode 1 (subtitled compilation)

I mentioned before that When Oranges Fall was surely going to strike such a chord with Thai Millennial viewers that International fans could never fully understand. But to give you an idea, I compiled and subtitled some highlights from the first episode reactions by Thai reaction channels Watchwhy Channel, IPOND TV, สายเลือด Y [My Blood Taste], NUNGNARONG and Channel Fanboys.

There's further context about the things they were talking about in a comment below.

List of series on OneD with English subtitles - need help checking geographical restrictions

I compiled a list of series that are available with English subtitles on OneD (not guaranteed to be complete).

So far, only the four most recent GMMTV series that were streamed exclusively on OneD in Thailand have had English subtitles added there. Additionally, the newer OneD Originals and most recent (and a few not-so-recent) Change2561 works also have subs available.

Many series on OneD have been reported to be restricted in some regions, but there hasn't been much clear information on the details. I'd appreciate it if you have time to check if they're available where you are. (Maybe just focus on the GMMTV series and a few samples from each of the companies, since it's going to be a lot of work to do all of them.) I already included a few data points from previous posts and discussions to get the table started.

Info from the Philippines would especially be appreciated, since what we know about the situation where OFDO and LYT had their later episodes blocked on YouTube there is still unclear.
