Just an absolutely surreal feeling
My boyfriend and I live in New Jersey. We have been so beaten down by the housing market where we are. Being 25, the idea of starting our family and lives while paying 3000 for rent or an 800k homes in our area is absolutely insane and literally unobtainable.
We both work remote so we are really lucky to have mobility to go anywhere. We found a wonderful historic row home and fell in love with it immediately. It’s 1600ish sq feet and 1.5 bathrooms. It has historic charm and we plan to restore it with a lot of Victorian touches and antique furniture. This home definitely needs some work, the doors and windows are ancient and that’s a hefty project.
We will miss all the amenities in Jersey. The endless events to attend and top notch restaurants and being close to NYC. But we found some local businesses here already that we love. Overall we won’t be regretting this decision and are so grateful.
