got a sick video of the f-22 from my apartment (today’s chicago air and water show). Ted Burns’s The American Revolution just so happened to be playing in the background.

I just booked a flight to Naples that takes off in 48 hours. What are the best menswear stores in Napoli?

At the very least looking for some sick ties. Maybe a suit if I like the guy.

I accidentally threw out my church’s oxfords and I’m sick about it. Does anyone have a black oxford recommendation that punches above its weight class?

I need to get new shoes asap but I don’t want to spend $1500 with tax. Proportionally I like a sturdier, fuller, shorter toe (not pointy). Classic toe cap. Anything “comparable” to church’s for like 5-600 bucks?

Slovenia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece recs for summer 2027 roadtrip

Hey what’s up! The lady and I are planning a roadtrip for summer 2027. We are thinking about flying direct into Vienna or Munich and renting a car to travel the length of the Adriatic for 2-3 weeks, anchoring somewhere new every ~2-5
days.

What are your absolute must-do’s, must-stays, and must-eats?

We’re looking for a well-rounded experience— sea, nature, chill, boats, eat, drink, turquoise water, tiny villages, views, hike, camp, vineyards, etc.

Budget is roughly $30,000.

Any tips or tricks are greatly appreciated (i.e. “book this captain” or “don’t book that captain”)

We’re willing to drive a couple hours “out of the way” if worth it.

We like staying in hotels that transport you to another place and time and embraces tradition but also want to punctuate those experiences with world class properties.

Thank you!

Should I contribute 100% of my income to my 401k during the pay period my bonus hits

I’m getting a signing bonus. I asked HR if I could contribute 100% of my bonus to my 401k to take advantage of pre-tax dollars.

HR said my bonus is paid out with my salary so whatever % contribution I already set will determine how much of my bonus goes to my 401k. In other words, if my 401k contribution is set to 10%, my paycheck is $10,000, and my signing bonus is $10,000, then 10% of that $20,000 paycheck will go to 401k.

HR said I can select 100% 401k contribution for one paycheck so that all hypothetical $20,000 of hypothetical $10,000 salary and hypothetical $10,000 bonus goes to my 401k.

I’m thinking about doing something similar for subsequent bonuses too.

Does anyone else do this? Is there a reason not to do this?

Thank you!!
