First Mini Cooper! Little road mishap
Hey guys! I've wanted a mini for many years and I finally bought my first! A new 2026 mini cooper oxford edition and it has been amazing to drive since I bought it 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I've never been lucky with new cars and something always happens in the first month I get one. This time I got struck by a rogue bit of tire knocked up by the car in front of me while on a turnpike going 80 in the dead of night. Really nothing I could've done to avoid it or see it coming, I'm just glad it didn't do more damage or take out my window or something and that everyone was safe at the end of the day. I'm taking it into the mini service station at the dealership I bought it from tomorrow but I'm wondering if it would be more worth it to buy an after market headlight, do the replacement myself and see about some DIY tricks for getting the dent fixed up a bit. I never need my car to look pristine or perfect by any means but I want it to still look nice and just want to do that without breaking the bank, especially since I've got to start making the monthly payments and pay for the registration/taxes on it in a couple months. Any advice is greatly appreciated, glad to be a part of the community even with the rocky start lol
