Administradoras

I have a question for the former Numeraries from the women’s section. If the NAX cannot go anywhere without a numerary present, does that mean for every single center big or small that has an administration there is a numerary who heads that full time? If so, as a female numerary can the directress just ask you to quit your job and be administration forever? I heard that after the center of studies a lot of female Numeraries are assigned to the administration. So effectively your career is over? What’s the criteria in selecting who gets to have a professional career or who gets to run administrations forever

The Weirdness of Numeraries and Kids

I’m in my late fifties and when I open Facebook I find it so weird to see the Numeraries who were with me in the Center of Studies hanging out with teenagers and kids on a regular basis. Plus it’s also fascinating that the St. Raphael centers are manned by older Numeraries because there’s so few young ones. This makes me cringe because you have late middle aged men and women hanging out with teenagers and college kids playing games with them and having activities with them on a regular basis. Does anyone else feel weirded out by this?

How do you Record Countries Visited if There’s No Airport There?

If I’m using Flighty to track everywhere I’ve gone is there a way to record the countries you’ve passed through even if there was no flight there?

Like how do you record places like Andorra or Lichtenstein?

Just curious if this is possible.

A Good 2026 so Far

It’s been a good 2026 so far. Missing 10 miles to hit 60k! I wonder what the second half of the year will bring?

Evolution of the Passport

This is just a hypothetical thought but I wonder if passports will evolve to be just a single card? I get the idea of the booklet when passports were stamped but now returning from a recent trip to Europe, I discovered that they too don’t stamp the passport. A lot of visas are already electronic so I would imagine that the time will come that the passport will just be a card with biometric stuff in it.

It’s a bummer though because I’ve collected every single passport I had since I was a kid and there’s a nostalgic pleasure in looking through them and seeing the places you’ve been to.

Guardian Angel of the Centers

I don’t know if my memory of this is hazy but when I was a numerary I remember that we were taught that every time we arrive at the center we have to go to the director’s office, say hi and then greet the guardian angel of the center which has an image in the director’s room.

In retrospect I’m wondering

  1. Where did this come about?
  2. And if this was an invention of OD or JME who were we really greeting? Because as far as I know Catholic doctrine, guardian angels are only assigned to people and not buildings. Because if so does this mean that my apartment has a guardian angel too?
