Anyone know what sample (and its variants) this is?

Most of these songs are really obscure so I'm not sure if anyone knows but if someone does that would be appreciated

It's almost without a doubt something on Splice since I'm pretty sure JackTheGen, LSPLASH, etc. get their samples from Splice and I've seen similar samples on Splice but not this one I'm looking for

Here are the songs I've heard it in:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znaREVqgfTA&list=PL30PorURi9D6H7OLpzu91NghlTjZ_IJdG&index=9 (Specifically at 9:42)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gg6cOgtspp4&list=PL30PorURi9D6H7OLpzu91NghlTjZ_IJdG&index=34 (Specifically at 2:19 but in this song, it's layered with another sample so it's hard to hear it clearly, also if anyone wants the sample it's layered with I have a link to it on Splice)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9Ab5JiDJJQ&list=PL30PorURi9D6H7OLpzu91NghlTjZ_IJdG&index=261 (Specifically at 4:37, 5:32, 6:27, and 8:37)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95RH00Q8BVE&list=PL30PorURi9D6H7OLpzu91NghlTjZ_IJdG&index=298 (Specifically at 0:14)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csTz9HhMdjE&list=PL30PorURi9D6H7OLpzu91NghlTjZ_IJdG&index=324 (Specifically at 0:07 and in this song it can be heard the clearest without any reverb)

I know the chances of someone knowing which sample it is are kind of slim but I really like this sample in particular even though it's not the most unique sample ever

(Also if anyone knows any other songs this sample is in, feel free to reply with a link and I can add it)

Ocean Ideas

In my opinion, Vintage Story has a big problem, and that problem is lack of ocean content

I’m a modder and I’m looking for ideas on what I can add to oceans to make them worth exploring.

My current ideas:

  • Polymetallic nodules which spawn as large deposits on the sea floor and can be collected and smelted for nickel, copper, iron, silver, and gold.
  • Hydrothermal vent clusters on the ocean floor that have sulfur and other hydrothermal ores.
  • Shipwrecks that spawn in the ocean and on beaches and have loot inside.
  • Shellfish (such as clams, mussels, and barnacles) that spawn on the seashore and can be cooked and eaten.
  • Brine pools that spawn on the deep ocean floor that are toxic and trap creatures in it.
  • Whales that swim around in the offshore open ocean and can be hunted for huge amounts of fat.
  • Whale falls, dead whale remains, that spawn on the deep ocean floor and has shellfish and other creatures around it.

What are your ideas?

Small Games VS Big Games Dilemma

I've been working on a really big game since November of 2024 (which is soon to be 2 years since I started) and it's very fun most of the time, and it's also one of my biggest games at almost 900 visits (which sounds insignificant and is kind of insignificant compared to other games but is a big accomplishment for me since I've never had any really popular games)

But part of me wishes I wasn't bound to one massive project, and I especially feel this way after playing Roblox a lot more recently and seeing other peoples' small games

Should I continue to work only on my two big projects? Should I make smaller games at the cost of the other two big projects taking a lot longer to be done?

What are your SPICIEST Vintage Story hot takes?

E.g. "_ is better than _," "_ is bad," etc.

My spiciest hot take I can think of is that tin bronze lamellar is better than most armors

ENORMOUS Black Coal Vein: Before VS After

Before

After

Found this huge black coal vein in a claystone desert, didn't have much fireclay (only yielded a stack or so) but had lots of lead nearby and a kernite vein (not sure if it spawns naturally, it is a vanilla ore but I might have a mod that makes it spawn) right next to it that I have yet to come back to

Also I had already started mining a bit in the first photo but not much

Am I the only one that is gotten UNBELIEVABLY attached to ONE world and could never imagine leaving it behind?

This never happened really to me when I used to play Minecraft, but with Vintage Story I have one world I'm SO attached to I could never imagine abandoning it. It's not my first world since I had one other world before it that I barely progressed in because I ruined the worldgen settings and wanted to start fresh but after creating it I never left it and I have been playing on it since January 2026, I currently have 164 hours in it and I'm almost in the Steel Age

Who else thinks that (as of 1.22.3) tin bronze lamellar armor is one of the best armors?

It’s (mostly) cheap if you are in mid-to-late-game (I’m in late-game, tail end of the Iron Age) and have an area rich in tin and copper, not an absolute pain to make like chain or plate armor, and its stats are decently good
