Yesterday I sent a couple of questions I had regarding countries who claim to follow Salafism, and I read your answers, thank you all.
Now these questions are more about scholars, and innovations (bidah).
First, regarding bidahs, how do salafis consider that there is no good or bad bidah even though the biggest scholars in Islam like Imam Al Shafii, Imam Al Nawawi, Al Suyuti.... all said that there is something called good bidah, and the muslim ummah was like this for hundreds of years up until Ibn Taymiyyah came? I don't understand how the entire muslim ummah, for hundreds of years was upon Dhalal up until Ibn Taymiyyah came and corrected the Aqeedah and whatnot.
Regarding my first question as well, the Prophet ﷺ, stated in a hadith that the Ummah will never agree upon a misguidance, so how did the ummah do so for hundreds of years?
I also don't understand how Salafis rely on Imam Al Nawawi, the commentator of Sahih Muslim, but at the same time deny that there is good bidah and bad bidah, who understands arabic better? Imam Al Nawawi or modern scholars?
Thank you all and again I don't mean to hate on anyone, I'm just curious and I'd like answers.
Assalamu Alaikum.
I come from a Sufi Naqshubandi family from Lebanon, where there is a lot more Sufis than Salafis.
I have never affiliated myself exactly with Sufism but I do attend Hadrat every now and then and every year I celebrate the Mawlid.
Now, I do have some questions regarding Salafism that just don't make sense to me about how this movement can be considered the true way.
Before you start telling me that Salafis follow the Salaf and whatnot, my main question is regarding how this movement is right now, especially with how the main countries following it are.
Saudi Arabia for example, the "land of tawheed" can be considered a puppet of the United States, for me, if it was really a country following Salafism, it wouldn't be in that situation, it would be actively trying to fight off western control but every day this country becomes more and more western affiliated, having parties in Riyadh and Jeddah.
My other problem is with those who are considered "Khawarij", how do they say that they follow the Quran and Sunnah when they kill muslims who are of a different Aqeedah?
Another question is with Palestine, how do Madkhali Sheikhs not have stances on it? It feels like they cannot say anything about Palestine for whatever reason, and there was that controversy on Osman Khamees saying that it's because of their own sins that they are in that situation.
I have more questions regarding Salafi Sheikhs like Ibn Taymiyyah but this is what I'd like to ask for now, thank you.
Hello! I just wanted to ask around when do the results come out? I was told that they will be out by mid-late July but I asked somebody who was accepted last year and they told me the results came out in 20th of August
Hello, I've applied to the turkish scholarship and I was accepted for the interview. I have done the IELTS and gotten an 8 but I later learned that turkish universities don't take IELTS and prefer TOEFL, now when I did the interview it wasn't mentioned to me.
If I get accepted by a university that has an english program, will I be able to go and do an english test for them rather than having to the the TOEFL? Since the results will be out in July as the person who interviewed me said
