Do I have an opportunity to ever work for NASA, or did I lose the opportunity by my GED?

Hi everyone. My situation is a little unique, so please bear with me here.
In the fourth grade, my mother removed me from public school due to the pandemic. I am supposed to be going into what should've been my senior year next fall (junior now), but due to my several years of unenrollment ano missing transcripts, I was informed I would have to start entirely over from 8th, so I have settled on getting my GED. Public school is off of the table for me, and my GED is my only choice unless I want to be 16 in the 8th grade (I don't.)
I have always tried to teach myself the basic math, English, history, science, etc, so l am not entirely uneducated. I have only just now escaped from the household and I am finally in a place where I am able to get my GED, and I have some questions I am hoping for advice on.
It has always been my dream to work in the astronomy field. I am unsure as to what exactly I would like to do, but I know I would like to study the stars and shoot for them. I have worries that due to my circumstances, the concept of astronomy for someone who has such little education for their entire life and only just now starting with the GED process that this field is unrealistic for me, especially with my NASA dream, and I am having doubts and I would like some pointers, some advice, and a general direction on what I should do or things I should look into. I am looking for honest advice. I am more than willing to work for it and do absolutely whatever it takes as ridiculous as the dream sounds. I know I will have to work like hell.
Again, I cannot stress enough that public school is not on the table. I would be past 21 graduating which is the limit in the US, and I refuse to be 16 in 8th grade due to my family never enrolling me. The GED is my best option I believe, and it may be my only.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and advice is much needed and much appreciated.

Getting my GED after leaving neglectful home, ISO advice for astronomy related career.

Hi everyone. My situation is a little unique, so please bear with me here.

Advice on what to do to finish highschool needed desperately

Hello everyone,
For a bit of background, in the fourth grade my mother took me out of public school due to the pandemic and enrolled me in homeschool. Our definition of homeschool was my education not being tended to and dismissed entirely, my grades being falsely put in the system and they never checked anything. The last time I did proper schoolwork was the fourth grade.

For English, I would say 1 am well off as l've authored my own books and have done numerous cowriting projects with my friends and things like that. In math, i am on maybe a fifth or sixth grade level. I do not know on science, but I learn history exceptionally quick.

Over the past six years, my mother passed and we lost our home and i got removed from my mothers side of the family and placed with my dad who is now urging I try public school once more. I'm wondering if it's truly possible for me to do so, having to go back in eleventh grade. I am willing to go behind a grade at the latest. Is there any chance id be able to go back to public school? Do I qualify for the whole no child left behind thing or will i just be told to get my GED?

My entire life I've dreamed of going into NASA but I worry i will never get the chance due to my family's situation. I yearn to go back to public school and have the chance at a somewhat normal experience rather than just doing nothing. I know getting my GED is an option, but I just want to know if there's any way that I can go back to public school before i throw away my last straw at ever having the highschool experience and being a normal teenager. Advice is needed desperately. Thank you

edit: by no child left behind i meant that like if i would be left behind in regards to proper education. I actually didn’t know about a law lol

Moving to SF from Tuscaloosa, Alabama — Advice Needed!

Hi everyone!
For a little bit of background - 1 am 16. In 2023, my mom got extremely sick after my education had already been neglected severely and it put me in the position of basically needing to drop out. When my mother passed away, I was put into a situation that made my life revolve around addicts and abusive family members and my education was mostly entirely gone due to it not being prioritized.

Due to one of the family members, we lost our house entirely here. As in, it is gone as of the time of me writing this. One of my mothers friends who she's known since she was 16 reached out to me the other day, she is in SF, and is offering me housing and bringing along one of my pets and will get me my GED, community college and even university if I am able to get in! I know that she is well off and that my education would be properly tended to there.

The thing is I have never been to California, and the closest to it that I have ever been is Texas and I've hardly left the state during my life and I have zero family down there. I have a million friends that I've met online (and have confirmed they aren't 85 year old men) - but all ! have is my moms friend in regards to people I can live with, who I've only chatted with online. My entire family (the ones that aren't addicts) trusts her because of how long we've known her and we know that it would be safe concerning treatment and all else.

In short, Im looking for some advice on what to do, things to consider before taking her up on the offer, and what I should expect if I do decide to. Thank you so much!

In need of advice for GED & College

Hi everyone.
As a bit of background, at 13 I became the sole caretaker for my mother who was currently dealing with lung and brain cancer. I have always had a very neglected situation due to my education because I was homeschooled and my education wasn’t ever quite taken care of the way it was supposed to (late grades submitted and sometimes never even enrolled) during middle school and the first two years of highschool.

Due to my situation, I decided that I would like to take the approach of a GED instead.
I never went to highschool and none of my grades for highschool were ever submitted because like I said, educational neglect by every adult in my life. After my mother passed I got put in a very poor homing situation to the point where my GPA is literally nonexistent if anything. I worry about my future. Does anyone have any advice? Am I screwed because of the GED and the situation because of my GPA? My future was supposed to be in an astronomy or marine (ocean) field as it’s what I’ve been dreaming of since I was little and I have an intense fear those goals are now unachievable because of the way my situation was handled. Advice is needed and welcome. Thank you.

(Please don’t say the ‘go back to highschool’ thing. I quite literally cannot. It is entirely off the table by my parents.)
