Hi everyone! I’m a fourth year undergrad who will be graduating in a few months. I’ve worked as a student assistant throughout college, and have really enjoyed being involved on campus and working directly with students in orientation, first year experience, and campus events.

Work doesn’t feel like work for me. I find fulfillment in supporting students, and I feel like I’m in my natural element when I’m on campus.

However, I also know that as a student assistant, I’ve likely been shielded from its more challenging aspects. Please give me a reality check. Help me demystify my romanticization of this field, as someone who is considering going to grad school for student affairs.

Considering trends of budget cuts, decreasing student enrollment, burnout, and AI making roles obsolete/consolidated, what else should I know about student affairs as a career?

I’m struggling to get inside the gates with the chests. The teleport pads are confusing me, I can’t seem to get inside.

I’m a 4th year undergrad student who is pivoting to student affairs and higher education. The work we do to transform student lives speaks to me, and I find the work extremely fulfilling and enjoyable.

I’m graduating this December, and I would like to be more proactive and intentional with my professional development. I’d like to hear people’s insights and perspectives for success.

I’m in Southern California and I (somewhat) have some experience as student assistant.

1. What was your experience in student affairs/higher education conferences like NASPA/ACPA, and do you have any tips for how I can make the most of my time there?
2. How can I improve my networking skills/follow up skills with professional staff?

I’m also planning to pursue grad school, but I’m currently trying to figure out how I can continue my education with assistantships, tuition remission, and a direct pipeline to a role after graduation.

Hi all!

Planning a 2-day trip from LA to visit the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park—those will take up most of our time. Looking for hotel recommendations near the zoo, Safari Park, and a good dinner/walking area.

We’ll have a car. No kids, no interest in nightlife, beach, or pools—just the parks.

Considering we’re gonna be outside all day, can anyone vouch/recommend a comfortable bed to stay? Thanks!
