I think it’s a polka-dot tree frog (Boana punctata) but happy to be corrected. The pink and green backdrop was pure luck.

Spotted this hummingbird feeding on powder puff flowers (Calliandra). Dark body with an iridescent sheen and a striking reddish tail. Seen in late June — any idea which species this is? More photos in comments if helpful. Shot with a Nikon D7500 + Tamron 70-300mm.

These photos were taken by me in Paramaribo, Suriname, on Sunday at 11:57 AM. The colorful band remained almost perfectly straight and I couldn’t see any continuation of an arc anywhere in the sky. It lasted for several minutes after rain. Is this a circumhorizontal arc, cloud iridescence, or something else?
