Empty nest - not quite

My daughter heads off to college tomorrow. It didn't bother me too much but it just hit me that she's the baby of the family. Have one adult kid at home but it's not the same. Life isn't over of course but no idea where to go from here beyond paying.off college and the mortgage. My wife and I are very different than we were when we met and hard to see the future.

Surely I'm not along. What did you do?

Once or twice and done

My local independent theater is playing T2 and am going to see it today. I don't think I have since early 90s. Looking through clips and such I stumbled upon Guns n Roses.

It's inevitable for most, but I do get sad when certain debut albums I absolutely love end up the artists best work. Appetite for Destruction is still an all time great album but they fell apart after that.

Less about GnR but what other artists did similar?

edit: not trying for opinions of GnR just using them as an example

Len Bias: 40 years later

Len Bias was a 6'8" small forward out of Maryland, widely seen as one of the most talented prospects of his generation. The Celtics took him with the No. 2 pick in the 1986 draft (held in NYC on June 17), and the pairing felt like a continuation of a dynasty.

Two days later, he was dead.

After returning to College Park, he attended a party at his dorm with teammates and friends. They used cocaine that night, and Bias suffered a fatal cardiac arrhythmia as a result. He was 22. His death is often cited as one of the most consequential "what if" moments in NBA history a Celtics team that might have stayed dominant through the late 80s and 90s instead spent 2 very mid decades.
