New blended family with one on the way

Anyone added a baby to an already hectic blended family dynamic? I think we moved too fast moving in with the kids. I have one son who is 8 and my partner has 3 - 3 5 7. It’s hectic but he only has his every second weekend and my son is with my 50/50

The discipline differences are frustrating but I understand why he doesn’t want to be too hard as he doesn’t see them often.

Recently found out I’m pregnant - I’m 41 years old and it came as a surprise. I’m unsure what to do - is this going to create even more stress or will it be the thing that binds us and the kids will love!

For context the kids don’t exactly love each other all the time but they get along for most of it.

Anyway have a similar story?

Pregnant at 41 in blended family

Not sure if anyone can relate but I am currently 8 weeks 5 days. I didn’t even think I could fall pregnant naturally still as my partner and I were “not preventing for over 12 months” I guess thinking if it happens if happens, now we are shocked that it did.
I have an 8 year old and he has a 3 and 5 year old girls and 7 year old son. It’s hectic!

I’m worried brining the baby in will cause more stress than good. I’ve wanted another child for years so I can’t believe I’m even contemplating not going ahead, it’s devastating to even feel like this. I think my partner is not 100% over the moon but will support what I want.

I’m worried for the kids we have and whether this is going to be another big life change they have to get used to again, in such a short time - especially my boy who is an only child and has struggled having my parents kids around on every other weekend.

Anyone else in a similar boat with blended situation? Did you find it was the binder for the family or did it cause more issues?
