Hey there! I ran my first race / half last Saturday after 12 weeks of training. I surprised myself and finished in just over 1:44. Now my sights are on a sub 1:30.

For the half my training plan was very unstructured. I ran 3 - 4 times times as week including 1 to 2x 4 milers, a 6, and a long run ranging from 8.5 to 12 miles. All around a 8:05 pace. From what I understand I need to incorporate some from of HIIT and strength training. If anyone has some guidance on what specifically I should focus on I'd greatly appreciate it.

My goal is to complete a full marathon sometime next year.

I ran my first official race / half marathon today after 12 weeks of training. Originally I set out to do a sub 2 hour, but my long runs were progressing a lot smoother than expected. Ended up finishing at 1:44 with my wife and kids cheering me on during the last leg. One of the most euphoric feelings I've ever had.

E - Thank you all for the kind words! It means a lot.
