What’s your stance on this?

I’ve seen a lot of ppl complain that during the Eclair/Arcana Shadow arc, this duo has been sidelined for a while, leading to their character growth being stunted.

I feel like I kind of agree with this (to an extent, of course) as they sort of feel like nothingburgers in a way. We all know that Anna is supposed to be more impulsive one, who relies on gut feelings, and that Mikuru is the more grounded one who relies on evidence. Maybe I’m missing something, or not paying attention enough, (if that’s the case, feel free to correct me) but when was the last time this has been showcased? Sometimes I’m not sure I can tell the difference in their personalities, cuz sometimes they act like the same person sometimes.

This isn’t me saying I dislike them; in fact, I really do like them, theyre cute and funny, but it feels like that’s all they’ve got going on for them. They are quite underdeveloped in comparison to Luluka and Kurea.

But that’s enough from me; I wanna hear ur opinions.

I hate the dungeon meshi fanbase

Oh my gosh, I’ve never been in a more insufferable fandom than this one.

There are frequent debates (and I mean FREQUENT) over headcanons, such as whether a character is neurodivergent or not, whether a character is chubby or not, whether a character is gay or not. The solution end these arguments is very simple; be mindful of everyones headcanons. The creator herself has stated that viewer interpretation of a character is allowed. If u view a certain character as autistic, or chubby, or gay, that’s fine. If you don’t, that’s also fine. But don’t go constantly pushing your beliefs onto others. That stuff gets old and annoying real fast.

Not to mention that people love discussing shipping way more than the actual story. Now, don’t get me wrong; I love indulging in shipping, and I recognise it as a staple for many (if not, all) fandoms. But what makes it especially jarring is when everyone is too fixated on romantic pairings, drowning out the plot, and turning into arguments and death threats. I think the worst part about the shipping in this fandom is that it leads to the mischaracterisation and flanderisation of many characters.

The topic of flanderisation leads nicely into my last point: this fandom has a huge flanderisation issue, regarding Izutsumi. If you aren’t familiar with this character, in short, she’s a human girl who’s soul was fused with a beastman when she was very young. This resulted in her cat-like appearance and mannerisms. There are scenes in the manga where it’s shown that she was basically exploited and looked down upon as a freak-show for most of her life, so she doesn’t like depending on others and prefers doing things herself. A lot of the fandom completely disregards her trauma because all she is to them is “haha cute funny kbity just a kitty cat and that’s all there is to her”. Feels like a lot of ppl completely overlook the fact that she hates being part-cat.

I haven’t watched this anime in a long time, but I remember it being so cute, funny, and chill. It’s just the kind of anime where you hang out with your friends everyday and do stupid stuff
