Two origami-folded paper pieces with spray paint and text -looking for critique on composition, text placement, and overall impact

Hi all,

I'd like critique on these two small paper works.

Technical information:

Medium: Paper folded using an origami chevron/zigzag tessellation technique, then spray-painted/airbrushed, with hand-applied lettering on top

No references were used

About the works:

Both pieces are made by folding the paper into a repeating origami chevron pattern that creates a strong three-dimensional relief. Over the folds I applied spray-paint gradients and then added short Dutch texts.

Translations of the texts:

First piece:

"ik ben niet fantastisch ik ben een fantast" → "I am not fantastic I am a fantasist"

(This is a wordplay between "fantastisch" = fantastic and "fantast" = fantasist/dreamer.)

Second piece:

"waar jij niet graaft daar graaft de pijn" → "where you do not dig there the pain digs"

What I'm looking for:

How well the text sits on the folded surface (readability, placement, contrast) and tips on how to make this better. Whether the colour gradients support or fight the origami folds, the lettering and the message of the text.

Overall composition and visual impact of each piece as parts and as a set.

Any suggestions on how to strengthen the relationship between the physical origami texture and the text.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Pointers for lettering

Both works are in Dutch. The first one says "waar jij niet graaft, daar graaft de pijn" it means: Where you do not dig, pain digs.

The second one says: "ik ben niet fantastisch, ik ben een fantast" it means: I am not fantastic, I am a fantasist.

The work is first folded with techiniques from origami. Than paintes with spraypaint (mostly Montana). After that the letters are stamped with letters from a pre school lettering stamp. Than I paint it over with white and black (Posca markers/acrylic paint markers).

I would like some pointers to make the letters come out better.

And if you have any feedback at all. Please let ne know.

This is the first time I show my work in public.
