1.) Batman vs Superman. This random henchman working for Lex Luthor is KGBeast for some reason. I expect at least 10 Snyder cultists to tell me this was genius actually and a better version of the character.

2.) Gotham and Birds of Prey. Two different times now Victor Zsasz has been made into a generic mob henchmen. He was fun enough in Gotham, but the character has always been a serial killer and not a mobster, and both versions omit his famous tally mark scars (which are literally the character's stand out trait.)

Edit: Ok. Jesus. I get it. Gotham Zsasz had a couple under his sleeves. No Birds of Prey Zsasz didn't have them, he had normal scars but not tally marks.

Y'all do realize you can read the comments to see if someone said something already right? Idk why this sub cares more about nitpicking then actually contributing examples of the trope.

3.) Amazing Spider-Man 2. Harry Osborn's assistant is Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat. This one was probably meant for Sony to try and do some studio spinoff movie, but that thankfully never happened so now it's just a weird detail that this one off character is named after a big Spider-Man character.

4.) MCU Ned Leeds. This one is slightly cheating because he's not a minor character at all, but there was really no reason to name this character Ned Leeds. They clearly wanted to adapt Ganke with their own spin on the character, or at least give Peter a best friend that wasn't Harry for a change.

But because he's named Ned Leeds, now people constantly talk about whether or not he'll ever be Hobgoblin (this has died down after No Way Home thankfully)

This is less when criminal villains have their own personal armies or well trained henchmen, but more when evil militias get hired/contracted/take over in some way where they get to harass civilians and generally be evil assholes under bullshit authority. This trope is entertaining even though it makes my blood boil.

Marvels Spider-Man: Sable International. The mayor of New York gets a private army of assholes to go after a bunch of masked men, which they use as an excuse to harass New Yorkers and try to kill a superhero for actually doing the right thing. In their first scene we literally see them try to execute someone defenseless.

Daredevil Born Again: The Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF). The mayor of New York gets a private army of assholes to go after a bunch of masked men, which they use as an excuse to harass New Yorkers and try to kill a superhero for actually doing the right thing. In their first scene we literally see them try to execute someone defenseless.... Hey wait.

Spider-Man Miles Morales: An evil company literally puts together a private army that goes around causing terror and for some reason no actual law enforcement stops this. Thankfully this would never happen in real life

The East India Trading Company. It happened in real life.

GTA V: Merryweather Security. A giant army owned by a billionaire asshole who are quick to beat the shit out of a stranger for trying to enter somewhere they're assigned. You don't get to kill enough of them in the game.

Pinkerton Detective Agency. Oh look, it happened in real life again. (Also in RDR2)

(Before you ask, I would have put ICE, but that's sadly an official government agency that existing even before the evil fascists made it their official secret police.)

Brooklyn 99: Jake Peralta and Amy Santiago. (Probably the best example and the best couple in sitcom history. Many agree the show is one of the few comedies where the show improved once the main romance finally got together.)

Parks and Rec: Ben Wyatt and Leslie Knope (Two dorks who just love politics and the government. They even have points above Jake and Amy because I can't recall any serious arguments they've had company to their single argument)

Malcolm in The Middle: Hal and Lois Last Name. (They literally have sex 14 times a week)

The Amazing Spider-Man: Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker (if you'll excuse me I need to go cry)

Teenage Bounty Hunters: Sterling Wesley and April Stevens. (While they sadly broke up in the finale, I do firmly believe they would have gotten back together if this FUCKING MORONS AT NETFLIX DIDN'T CANCEL THIS AMAZING SHOW AFTER ONLY A SINGLE SEASON. Christ I'm still upset about it.)

Superman

Superman again

Robin

Mr. Fantastic.

Mikey (The Bear)

In The Bear, the lead character inherits his restraunt from his brother Mikey, who committed suicide. While Mikey had his issues, namely with drug addiction and lack of maturity, everyone clearly adored him and when we finally see him in the 6th episode, Jon Bernthal makes him so likable you both understand why his death was so devastating.

Faye (God Of War Ragnarok)

The entire plot of the first game is about Kratos and his son Atreus are travelling to spread the ashes of Atreus' mother, Faye. You hear constant stories of her and her great character. When you finally get a scene of her in the sequel game, you understand how she is the woman that was able to make Kratos move on and start a new family.

The Mother (How I Met Your Mother)

The entire show is about a guy, Ted, telling kids about how he met their mom... Kinda. He doesn't get to that until the last scene of the show, and the whole show you wonder who the mother actually is. In the final season, she is finally introduced and she almost instantly became a fan favorite character, living up to the hype of the woman who was Ted's true soulmate. Because the show ends at the scene they meet and absolutely nothing happens after.
