Purple Death cross section

Purple Death cross section

The pods begin a striking purple color, turn green, finally ripen red while the interior retains some faint purple hues. Pod shape varies from Primo-like to a ghost type shape, which makes sense as a cross of the 7 Pot Primo and Purple Ghost. Heat levels are nuclear regardless of pheno.

Farmer’s Market Jalapeño

I’m actually excited about this one. I’ve loved jalapeños for years and have been fortunate enough to try all kinds of different ones. We’ll see how it stacks against my favorite, the lemon spice jalapeño.

Darth Maul x Fatalii Gourmet Jigsaw

A highly productive pepper, I need to get the rest of the ripe ones off the plants. Absolutely a super hot, but very nice flavor, and not so hot that you can’t feel your tongue for hours.

Leaf footed bugs how I hate you

It’s hard enough growing in this heat, but these terrorists add a whole new dimension.

Leviathan Gnarly Mustard

They are gnarly, they are mustard, but leviathan? Granted, these are the first pods which tend to be underwhelming. So how do they taste? Let’s find out together.

Flavor: floral and earthy with a ton of heat.

Heat: immediate, fierce, and very scorpion-like. I picked the smallest one in the hopes it wouldn’t punch me in the throat, but that didn’t help. They’re hotter than the Leviathan Gnarly Scorpions I grew last year.

Burn: still going, so it’s a long lasting burn. Sinuses are clearing, so there’s a plus.

Overall: it’s ok, passable taste, but makes up for that with pure malice. It’s one of the hotter peppers I’ve tried this season and the heat goes on and on. I’ll need to side by side these with some other superhots to get a better feel for where the heat lies in direct comparison. Definitely something as a base for a scorpion sauce or dehydrated and made into powder/flakes and the heat won’t disappoint.

Dark Blood

Decorative looking foliage and striking fruits. Looks quite similar to Count Dracula but leaves are noticeably lighter and grows considerably larger.

Leviathan Gnarly Mustard

Well, I’ve grown Leviathan Gnarly Scorpion before (pic 2), so pheno is half right, but not exactly “Leviathan” by a long shot. Still excited to give it a try.

7 Pot Primo? nah, it’s way off pheno. Matt’s Pepperd.

No idea what this crossed with or if it’s even a 7 Pot Primo to begin with. I’ve grown these before and this ain’t it by a long shot. I’ll keep it around anyways because if it’s just an unstable or crossed up variant, it may still have something to offer. There’s a ripe one in the background, so I’ll give it a taste test, but it looks suspiciously habanero-like to my eyes. This is not a case of me switching up the tags this time. I’m also growing the Primeaux seeds, so I’ll get some proper Primos one way or the other.

Hot Chocolate Primotalii

The Chocolate Primotalii. Intense heat so hot it will make your ancestors feel the burn. Almost ripe, but you can still see the green in the tail.
