Finally decided to pull the trigger on gmktek evo x3

I finally decided to pull the trigger on gmktek evo x3.
While I am waiting for the system to arrive wanted to know some the setups that you guys have been running for optimised workflows.
I plan to run multi agentic workflows (not sure if it would be sequential with higher models vs parallel execution with smaller ones) for mainly coding and cyber security stuff and just fun projects.
Looking forward to your opinions on what setup is better suited for this workflow .
Or if you have any in general suggestions!!

Need help. GMKtec M7 ultra vs GMKtec Evo X3

I am currently using a GMKtek M7 Ultra with AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 6850U 32gb RAM and 1TB storage.

My main use cases are mainly running local coding AI agents, multi agent setups for bug bounties and other cyber sec related activities, a homelab for which I use a USB based proxmox setup and occasional gaming.

The current configs of the mini PC are not even close to my requirements so I am planning to upgrade it.

I am confused whether to upgrade the existing model with an eGPU setup (3090 24gb via oculink) or completely replace it with a model like GMKtec evo x3 or similar.

Could use opinions or experience on how the dedicated GPU plays against the unified memory for the above use cases for running multi agent setups where contexts size may grow.

Thanks in advance!

Job switch advice in cybersecurity

I am currently working as a security engineer where I work on multiple fronts like end to end Incident response, SOAR engineer, detection engineer.
I have around 3.5 YOE.
I have no complaints at my current workplace. In the sense I have one of the most kind and understanding managers, team and work freedom and work life balance.
The only thing is I feel salary could be a little better and the growth is bit slow, but yeah apart from that everything is really good and I have the freedom to take on new projects in different domains.

I have a potential offer from a Fortune500 company where the salary is much better (almost 1.5x current base) based on what ive read the work life balance and everything is pretty chill.
The only draw back is the role has a defined scope of Threat Detection.
As such I enjoy the detection engineering role, in terms of doing research and log analysis but the freedom of working in different domains will no longer be there.

What are your thoughts on if should I take the new role!

Build guidance

Hello all.
I am looking to build or buy a pre build setup mainly for running local AI models of upto 34B parameters and also gaming (nothing to fancy but games like Valorant etc)

I currently have a MSI - Codex R Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i5-12400F - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 - 1TB SSD

And I also have a GMKtec M7 Ultra Mini PC AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U (MAX 4.7GHz), 32GB RAM 1TB SSD.

But both of them are not good enough to run larger local AI models.

I looked into some systems that come with unified memory that could provide an added advantage when it comes to running local model.

But i wanted to know the best step forward and if there is anything I can do with my existing systems before purchasing a new one.

My gmktec has a dedicated Oculink port where I can attach an external GPU dock, but that would almost cost the same as some systems like frameworks.

What are your thoughts on best step forward? Should I sell these 2 and get a new one and can I do something with my existing ones

Western Union money transfer to send money to my home country.

I've been using Western Union app to send money to my home country. I've been using the "Apple Pay" option with Venture X which did not flag that as a cash advance.
But recently it seems they changed the interface and now there are 2 option - Apple Pay Debit card and Apple Pay credit card (this now includes 3% transfer fees).

Has anyone recently tried to send money to see if there is still a way to bypass the transfer fee without flagging the transaction as cash advance?

Are there any other alternatives to this which I can use to avoid the fees and send money using my Credit card. (I have a 0% APR purchase which I want to leverage)
