How was your run?
It was my first time doing it. I thought it was an interesting experience. It's not everyday that you get to run through the Lincoln Tunnel.
It was a very straigtforward event. It literally only had one turn.
I would say that it's an ideal situation to get a PB but my Garmin didn't register properly in the tunnel. My pace was jumping all over so I went a lot slower than I wanted. I still got a PB, though.
The course is USTA certified but my Garmin registed 3.07 miles. Again, probably because it was a bit wonky in the tunnel.
I'll probably run it again next year. Still going to chase a PB but will change strategy. They have Mile markers along the route. I'll probably utilize those more than focusing on what my Garmin says.
Would I recommend this race?
Yes. The event is well organized and it's an interesting experience. They also have shuttle buses running from Port Authority to the start line before and after races.
And it's also for a good cause.
