Green Water
I've been watching this tank slowly turn green. The panda seem to enjoy it. Spilled a bit of a green water culture in here a few months ago by mistake, now I have a 40g culture ^^

Had a different pair spawn in a holding tank the same day as another pair. Going to be a LOT of fry for these two to raise 😅
After what seemed like eternity wiggling, the Velvet Rose fry took flight today and had their first feed.
Plenty of rubble, other shells, etc. Been wearing this for months now.
Enjoying the full purple coverage on this one. It looks better and better as it grows. Gave them their own 20g grow out tank, can't wait to see how it turns out as a full grown adult. The silver on the pectoral area is a really nice contrast.
New Pair - gotta love the coloring 😍 what a vibrant red on the nuchal hump.
Been watching these grow for a while in this hang on breeder box. They are also in the tank, mostly in the filter media.
I feel like we get so much less of this kind of stuff in the fresh water hobby compared to salt water where hitch hikers come in all the time.
I have no idea where these came from. The tank is years old bare bottom stock tank. This is literally the only "extra" life that exists in it other than the fish I grow out in it. Nothing from other tanks or LFS has been added to this tank in years.
This guy was SO SMALL. This is zoomed in 10x. It passed my initial visual inspection, and I ALMOST decided not to move my new coral to a fresh plug. Scraping the exterior of the frag seemed like enough. Bought coral at the trade show and have been super busy.
Stick to your protocols. Plugs are never clean, especially when freshly dipped.
Upgrade from Fluval Aquaclear 110 to Seachem Tidal 110 for the surface skimmer.

Really liking the design of the Tidal HoB. Just the throttle on the pump (right now it's turned to minimum) is a really nice feature compared to the Aquaclear for feeding. Previously I would have to remove the entire intake to slow the flow enough to target feed. The heater mount near the intake will be great for water temp stability.

Topping off the tank with a 5g water change after transferring all my media from the Aquaclear to the Tidal and I'm about ready to crank her up to full power.

Enjoy the view. My Weeping Willow looking extra today for the camera.

Always view this tank from the top down. It's pretty much on the ground in the garage hatchery on bricks for a small raise off the floor.
Clowns recently paired up and have been hosting the nems together. Male is doing the wiggles. Cleared off the glass for the first time, tanks been running for slightly over a year now.
Any good suggestions on information regarding phyto cultures or resources on clown fry? I work with fresh water cultures for small fry, but don't really know where to get starter salt cultures.
RedDevil Group 004 - Pre-Flight QT tank for these 6 Angelfish. They will be boarding their flight on Monday. ✈️
Mom and Dad are so not ready for this batch of fry. It's huge 🤣
BBS is the absolute worst part of raising fry. Can't wait until these are on flake and into the grow out tub with the pleco/snail clean up crew.
No angelfish were harmed in the cleaning of this aquarium.
This is Elvis, he's 6 years old now. He was the Angelfish that introduced me to breeding Angelfish, and why I built my hatchery over the last 6 years.
Priscilla unfortunately passed last year, and I recently introduced him to his new wife.
This is their first batch of wigglers since being moved into the nursery section of my hatchery where I spawn all my Angelfish.
Good mom and dad. Was using the AI on their breeding cone. Going to try to get a "fry count" from them.
So I tasked my hatchery assistant to monitor these eggs. Will check them again before I go to bed, and then again in the morning.
Based on a close visual assessment of the clutch laid on the breeding cone, here is the breakdown of the fertile (translucent/clear) eggs versus the infertile (opaque white) eggs:
Clear/Translucent Eggs: ~295
White/Opaque Eggs: ~75
Summary Analysis
Total Estimated Count: ~370 eggs
Viability Rate: ~80% fertile
I don't even know how to describe this. Was in the middle of a print that I have done many times before. I got a phone call and decided to check in on my print. Everything was looking great. Walk around a little more look back in on the print and the tool head had stopped over the print.
No pause, no warning from the machine. So I'm watching the printer do nothing, and then suddenly the tool head moves to the right side of the print chamber, bangs into the wall, and then starts moving from front to back while trying to also move to the right.
I hit stop on the print. Nothing happens, tool head is still running around like a chicken with it's head off. Had to hit the emergency stop and power off the printer.
Is this a one off? I'm afraid to start a multi hour print and not be available to emergency shut off now 🙃
1000 hours with no problems and then this crazy nonsense.
Going to run some calibration and reset to factory settings (although it is factory). Is this a fun sideffect of the recent firmware update?
New pair I've been working with. This will be their 3rd spawn. They have a different bloodline from my other koi. So far I've been satisfied with the quality of the fry.
Future plans to cross these Koi with my line to diversify the genetics.
