I'm going fishing at homestead dam in benoni next week, has anyone fished there and got any advice, or recommendations. I've been there before but haven't been super successful there, I mainly target carp from the shore but also planning on going out on a boat to do some bass fishing. advice on baits/lures thats works for you there?

My 2010 Polo Vivo started making a clicking/knocking noise yesterday when turning. Took it to a friend who knows cars and we think it’s the inner CV joint – he mentioned something about the bearing inside it being worn.

He says its going to be R1000 just for the part replacement on one side, and said I’ll probably need to do both sides eventually so about R2000 total.

I’ve got 3 questions:

1. Is R1000 per side fair for an inner CV joint for a 2010 Polo Vivo? I’m in Gauteng/Randburg if that matters.

2. I don’t have the money right now. How risky is it to keep driving it for another 2-3 weeks till month-end? Will it just get noisier, or is there a chance it fails completely and leaves me stranded?

3. My friend is confident we can replace it ourselves. I don’t want to DIY it, have it fail, then pay twice as much to get it fixed properly.
