Should I transfer?
Hey guys, I just recently got an offer from Millennium High School in Manhattan to transfer as a rising 10th grader (9th → 10th). I currently go to Forest Hills High School in Queens, where my commute is really short. The real question is whether I should stay at my zoned school, where I'm in the Carl Sagan program (specialized program), got accepted into Science Olympiad for next year, have a solid friend group, and am planning to rejoin the track team (I quit this year but most of my friends are still on it), or transfer to Millennium, which has a commute of over an hour each way but seems to have stronger college outcomes and academics overall. Before high school started, I probably would've accepted Millennium instantly if I'd gotten in, but now that I've actually made friends and gotten involved at FHHS, I'm really torn. Getting into a good college is important to me, so I'm wondering if Millennium's opportunities are worth giving up everything I've already built at FHHS. What would you guys do in my situation? I have around 5 days left to decide, so any advice would be great.
