I haven’t had any sleep apnea issues for over 10 years, Ive been sleeping on my side and I am fine. Until recently. I had surgery on my ankle and haven’t been able to walk for 4 weeks and have another 3 to go. About a week ago my sleep apnea started again and it’s absolutely brutal. I wake up at 2 each night gasping for air so violently my lungs are in pain. I have zero clue what changed. I am not on pain meds and have not gained weight. Is it the lack of exercise (I am a very fit person), the anesthesia? Please help.
