I found these rummaging through old furniture in my home today
Hello I have found a few coins from when I visited the UK 10 years ago. I would like to know if any of them have value and where to sell them if that's the case. The majority of the coins are from 2014-2016 but a few are from the 80s.
I think this would make a nice gift and I like the look of its presentation. But it‘s much more (£92) than I’ve ever paid for a coin before and I’m not sure how nice the “acrylic display box” would actually be in person.
Does anyone have any experience with similar products or have a rough idea of how good it would look? Thanks.
I have this 1973 50 cent coin from the Bahamas. Is it worth anything?
was sold to me as a 1905. i dont have enough experience to know what the last number is
Hi everyone,
My father collects coins and banknotes from around the world, and I’m currently visiting London.
I’m looking for a place where I can buy one brand-new 2026 example of every UK circulating coin denomination (1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2), ideally all in uncirculated condition. If possible, I’d also like to get the 2026 banknotes.
Does anyone know a shop in London that sells complete 2026 UK coin sets, or somewhere I can buy each denomination individually?
Thanks!
Firstly, apologies for the pictures being out of order, I'm not sure why reddit did that. Secondly, I have 6 medieval/ post-medieval coins that I would appreciate any help with identifying. Firstly:
Coin A: I believe to be a half groat of Edward II/III, however, I am unsure which. Weight: 1.02g, diameter: 1.9cm.
B: I believe to also be a half groat of an Edward from the London mint. Weight: 0.91g, diameter: 1.9cm
C: I think is a half groat of Elizabeth I. Weight: 0.58g, D: 1.5cm.
D: I think is a penny of Henry 7th, weighing 0.6g, D: 1.4cm.
E: I have no idea, weight: 0.34g, D: 1.7cm.
F: Also not much of an idea, weight: 0.36g, D: 1.15cm.
Any help on monarch, mint, denomination, etc, would be greatly appreciated. As well, if possible, to provide a Spink code and/or a Numista listing would be greatly appreciated. I've tried for a few hours to identify these but haven't gotten very far. Thanks for any help.
I scanned these in with my printer and i think they're in decent condition so i just wanted to show them off
I've just bought my first historic coin. A 1935 rocking horse crown from a dealer and so I have joined this group.
I see that there are lots of choices even in this niche. What is your collecting strategy and how many coins do you have?
👀 Spot the difference - cupronickel 2026 Britannia error on the left, standard silver bullion Britannia on the right. The colour difference is very apparent in the hand. The base metal example shows some signs of toning.
I think these have been discussed on here before, but there are 209 of these error 2026 Britannias confirmed to have been struck on a cupronickel Five Pound blank. They are just starting to trickle out on the secondary market, with some huge prices being achieved on eBay.
Mods - could we get an error coins tag?
