Base Metal Error 2026 Britannia Compared With Standard 1oz Silver Britannia

👀 Spot the difference - cupronickel 2026 Britannia error on the left, standard silver bullion Britannia on the right. The colour difference is very apparent in the hand. The base metal example shows some signs of toning.

I think these have been discussed on here before, but there are 209 of these error 2026 Britannias confirmed to have been struck on a cupronickel Five Pound blank. They are just starting to trickle out on the secondary market, with some huge prices being achieved on eBay.

Mods - could we get an error coins tag?

I'm currently recruiting for a Trainee Valuer to join The Britannia Coin Company in Wiltshire on a full-time, in-office basis.

Obviously, if you're browsing this subreddit, you have some interest in coins and maybe precious metals, but what we're ultimately after is someone interested in growing their knowledge with a view to developing a career in numismatics.

If this is of interest and you have experience in customer-facing roles, decent IT skills, and are looking for work in the South West, it would be great to hear from you.

I can answer informal questions here or by DM, but application details and a full job description are online here: https://britanniacoincompany.com/about-us/careers/

(Hope this is allowed! Random photo from what's on my desk today - 2oz gold Raphael Maklouf Portraits of a Queen - our first exclusive release as Royal Mint partners.)
