Aldi named cheapest UK supermarket again as Waitrose costs £66 more
Which? compared 95 common groceries in June and found Aldi came in at £163.34, while Waitrose was £229.88 for the same basket. Lidl was close behind Aldi, but the big gap shows how much supermarket choice still matters when food bills feel tight. Are loyalty prices really helping, or just making shopping more complicated?
Maze Living - heads up
Hi all
Ordered some garden furniture from maze living earlier this year given some good feedback of quality. Service has been diabolical since then to the point we spent 2k and have received half the items, they've gone radio silent in last 2 weeks so definitely getting "going under" vibes from them.
They're still active on social media but have blocked me from comments so just a heads up. Avoid them if you can. Wish I'd done a bit more due diligence before ordering! Seems a lot of people in same boat on Google reviews and trust pilot.

news.sky.comBoots and Oral-B questioned over electric toothbrush “savings”
Which? says Boots and Oral-B may be misleading shoppers with electric toothbrush discounts based on RRPs that products were not actually selling at online. One iO5 duo pack showed a £450 RRP and £305 saving, but Which? says it never found it at that RRP during checks. Worth checking price history before trusting “half price” labels.

reuters.comApple buyers hit with sudden UK price hikes as AI chip crunch bites
Which? says Apple has raised UK prices across popular kit, including Macs, iPads, HomePod and Apple TV. Some MacBook models are now £100–£500 more on Apple’s own site, while other retailers may not have caught up yet. Feels like one of those “buy now or wait and regret it” moments for anyone planning a laptop or tablet purchase.
KRCS UK demanding £500 extra or cancellation on a Mac Studio
Hi all,
Looking for advice on a consumer rights situation that I think others may be experiencing too, given Apple's recent price increases.
I placed an order with a UK Apple Premium Reseller (KRCS) on 5th May for a Mac Studio M4 Max. The order was confirmed on 6th May at a set price, and I paid a deposit to secure it. Due to the RAM shortage, delivery has been pushed back multiple times, now expected in July.
This week, I received an email from the retailer saying that Apple has announced a price increase and they're now asking me to either accept the new price (around 20% higher) or cancel the order. I've since spoken with Apple directly, and they confirmed that the revised pricing applies only to orders placed from 25th June onwards.
The retailer's own T&Cs contain no clause allowing a price increase to be applied to an already-confirmed order, and as far as I understand, UK consumer law (Consumer Rights Act 2015) means the agreed price at contract formation is binding.
Has anyone been through something similar? Particularly:
- Did you manage to get the retailer to honour the original price?
- If the retailer cancelled unilaterally, what happened?
- Any advice on the most effective next steps without going straight to legal action?
Thanks in advance.

UK Retail Sales Just Hit Their Gloomiest Summer Reading In Decades
reuters.comFruit pots from Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, M&S and Waitrose recalled over Salmonella risk
Worth checking the fridge: several fruit pots/slices sold across major UK supermarkets have been recalled after Salmonella was identified in apple and kiwi used in them. The FSA says don’t eat the affected packs — return them for a full refund. Anyone else getting tired of finding out about recalls after the shopping’s already home?

news.sky.comApple TV Price Increase UK
Hi, Apple TV 4K is going from £139 to £199. It is already the new price on the Apple Store but I can get it for £139 still from other retailers. I was waiting to get the new Apple TV when it comes out (eventually), but given the price increase do you think I should just get it now? As whatever features are on the new TV, it most likely won’t justify the much higher price tag.
Best way to track Zara and high-street brand sales in the UK?
How do you usually keep an eye on sales from brands like Zara, Mango, Massimo Dutti, Uniqlo, etc. in the UK?
Do you use newsletters, apps, deal websites, Reddit communities, or just check around certain sale periods? I’m trying to catch good deals before the common sizes sell out. Any tips?
Is there any good sales period any time soon ?
