British Airways has today revealed all-new First, Club World (business), World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and World Traveller (economy) cabins, building on the unveiling of its new First suite in 2024

The ongoing multi-million-pound investment to enhance the onboard experience will be showcased on the first retrofitted A380 aircraft, taking to the skies in the coming months

The A380 retrofit programme is one of the most extensive cabin transformations undertaken by any airline, involving the installation of more than 35,000 individual parts across each aircraft

The transformation includes brand-new seats in every cabin with new in-flight entertainment screens, alongside redesigned galleys and stairways

The aircraft will feature the world’s largest business class cabin, with 106 Club Suite seats spanning the entire upper deck, finished with new trims and detailing

The aircraft will also feature a refreshed onboard experience, including new First and World Traveller Plus amenity kits, and new bedding in First, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller

Specially trained First Service Specialist cabin crew will deliver the airline’s brand-new dining experience, available in every First cabin across its long-haul fleet

Global satellite provider SES, which operates a large global network of satellites that can deliver video and data services to 99% of the world’s population, has today signed another extension of their existing partnership with Sky. This will see them continuing to provide capacity to support the Sky Q TV service in the UK and Ireland beyond 2029, and into the 2030s.

Sky UK has spent the past few years putting a lot more effort into pushing their new internet-based streaming platforms, Sky Glass (Sky integrated streaming TV set) and Sky Stream (streaming set-top-box), which are standalone products that use your home broadband ISP and Wi-Fi connection to stream Sky’s on-demand video content and live TV channels – without the need for a satellite dish.

Cathay Pacific has extended cancellations of passenger flights to Dubai and Riyadh until January 31.

Cathay updated its Middle East passenger service notice on September 28. Affected travellers can rebook, reroute or refund eligible tickets under revised flexible travel conditions.

September’s extension adds two months to the previous November 30 2026 cancellation deadline announced on September 4.

The Home Secretary has ordered an urgent review after Border Force failed to intercept a second migrant boat in two days before they reached the Kent coast.

Twenty-one people have been detained by Border Security Command after a boat arrived on the beach of Samphire Hoe, Dover, on Tuesday afternoon.

The Home Office has not said whether more people from the boat were being sought.

The department said Shabana Mahmood has ordered an urgent review by Border Security Command into this week’s beach landings.

It came after a dinghy made it to shore at Folkestone on Monday morning – the first undetected landing for a year.

Cathay Pacific won’t be coming back to Cairns this year, with the airline abandoning seasonal flights to Hong Kong which have previously run across the peak December-February period since 2024.

The airline has cited “commercial” reasons for dropping the route.

“Cathay Pacific regularly reviews its schedule and network to best align with market demand,” said Tom Kennedy, Cathay’s Regional Head of Sales for Southeast Asia & Oceania.

"We remain committed to the Australian market and will continue to offer direct services to Hong Kong from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.”

When announcing the route’s return for December 2025 to February 2026, the airline said it was expected to inject an estimated $18 million into the local economy in visitor expenditure alone, and would also bolster valuable direct export channels from Queensland.

Hi disappointed as I paid £70 more for thinner lenses when 1.67 would have been fine.

They refused at the time of purchase, and said high prescriptions can only be 1.74.

Funny enough they ordered me 1.67 for the sunglasses which I agreed too. Yet they could not do it for the other 2 pairs.

This makes little sense and disappointed they have sold me a higher package for the 2 pairs of glasses.

The other 2 I bought are 1.67 yet they couldn't do it on the extra 2 pairs.

Id like to know for next time so I don't fall into this trap and be mis sold higher packages

An online gambling giant owned by Britain’s richest woman is to cut hundreds of jobs after Labour’s tax raid on the industry.

Bet365, which billionaire Denise Coates controls, said up to 300 jobs would be lost at its headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, where it employs about 5,500 people.

A further 40 roles will be affected at its offices in Gibraltar and Malta.

The cuts, which amount to about 3pc of total staff, follow Labour’s tax increases on the gambling industry.

Under Rachel Reeves, a tax on online casinos and digital slot machines was increased from 21pc to 40pc, while levies on most online sports betting from 2027 are poised to rise from 15pc to 25pc.

The cuts come despite Ms Coates, whose family’s wealth has been estimated at close to £10bn, paying herself £104m in the year to the end of March 2025, an 8pc rise on the previous year.

I am not overly happy with a pair of glasses I have although I could manage, however it's been over 30 days

They aren't wonky on my face but arms seem loose, they're only a month old. Concerned it needs to be replaced however they function correctly so not sure if I should exchange.
