What products are difficult or impossible to return?

I am wonder beisdes underwear what other items simply cannot be returned even if they have not been used? I am just curious because a lot of loss for people who sell on amazon or those who are starting a small business lose a lot of money via returns so I was thinking of maybe starting a side gig where I choose an item that really can't be returned.

I know that sounds odd but this idea just occurred to me out of nowhere. This way I don't need to deal with all the issues that come with returns, I can buy wholesale amounts from bulk sites like amazon and ailbaba and just sit back and what the money roll in. That last part was sarcastic, lol lol lol .

who usually pays shipping fees for returns?

I was wondering about shipping fees: who is usually supposed to pay them, and whether that depends on the reason for the return. I am assuming that if the product is damaged or incorrect, then the seller typically covers the return cost, which includes shipping.

If the buyer pays the return fee, it's usually because you have changed your mind about the product. Is this how it usually is? On certain websites, it is clearly stated as free returns or exchanges, while others are more cryptic and require you to read the fine print. I was just wondering what others have found; this is for US companies.

Returns in the UK vs the UK?

Does the US actually have the best buyer-protection choices if you need a refund quickly, and which services typically process refunds fastest? I had this argument with a friend from the UK, and I personally really think the US is ahead. We went this summer for the FIFA World Cup, and we were able to return most of anything we purchased, in some cases even used cosmetics we purchased from Ulta. I mean, I am kind of scared to think about what they are doing with those used cosmetics after people return them. In the US, many credit cards offer strong chargeback rights, and some retailers give instant store credit or fast in‑store refunds.

For online purchases, PayPal refunds to your PayPal balance can be instant, while card refunds usually take 3–5 business days, and debit cards can take longer. I just feel it's a lot more cumbersome in the UK, and there are some things you just can't return, like used cosmetics, for one. Do you think US protections are genuinely better than the UK’s?

Need UK retail outlet suggestions to purchase a men's formal suit?

I am looking for nice smart men's formal suiting in the UK that I can purchase from retail outlets either online or in the store. I am invited to a wedding that is black tie optional and my boyfriend is going with me but refuses to wear a suit. I just want something easy and budget friendly that I can pick up and run by him so that it will get done. I know if its too expensive he won't want to buy it, but if its like from a mid-budget friendly retail outlet he may not have such a big issue. He's just being difficult and not used to dressing up a lot and also really lazy. I have to do everything for him when it comes to clothing for formal occassions.

I looked at Marks & Spencer and didnt like anything, so was thinking what could be the next best thing, I want something versatile which is like a two-piece suit ikn navy charcoal or mid-grey. I know that Next offers some contemporary cuts which I really like but it seems to cheap. Also, I looked online to try and find something cheaper on Amazon, Temu, AliExpress, or Alibaba, but I don't want to take a chance of trying to return something and then not have enough time to purchase again.

Does black tie mean tux or formal suiting?

ok a little confused, does black tie mean a tux or just formal suiting with a jacket or a tie. I just want to try and understand how strict it is because I thought it was just a formal jacket with a tie. I have seen many invitations that seem less traditional, and a dark suit might be acceptable for those occasions.

I know that many invitations are very specific but this one is vague and now I guess I have to clarify to see if I we need to spend more money, I would not buy a tux but just rent it then. I am invited to a wedding with my boyfriend and he doesn't want to purchase a suit. I dont want to spend a lot of money but I also dont want to purchase something from amazon or from a third seller who buys from alibaba/aliexpress and resells.

Three measurements that are essential to purchase a men's suit online

People I have a problem, me and my boyfriend are attending a wedding soon and he absolutely refuses to wear a suit and the wedding invitation says black tie. To me, this means he needs to wear one; he thinks it means some formal trousers and a jacket. I really feel like he doesn't get how formal weddings can be and how bad it will look if he comes without wearing a matching suit, matching mean trousers and the jacket are the same fabric and color and he needs to wear a tie.

I was wondering if I needed to order one online what are the three measurements I would need and how well would it fit. I can't take him to the store, I could go in person to a store but I was thinking that would be useless. Also where can I order something like this online, I want to purchase from a real store online and not a third party seller who is purchasing in bulk from amazon or alibaba and reselling. I want an actual brand that sells suits for under $100, I am in the UK so I need stores that could ship here. The wedding is August 8.

RO water filters and the removal of calcium?

I have been looking into different filtering options and found that RO has come up a lot, and even though it is definitely more expensive than the other kinds of water filtering, it seems like a really practical way to filter water because you can just fit it under the sink. The problem is that I have heard that it can remove very important minerals like calcium, and I am a woman and at that age where calcium is actually very important.

I understand why people choose RO for cleaner water, but I’m wondering whether remineralization filters are worth the extra cost or if most people simply get those minerals from their diet anyway. Has anyone compared the taste and long-term use of standard RO systems versus remineralized ones? I’m also looking at suppliers online on sites like amazon and alibaba for replacement filters and complete systems, but I’m unsure how to judge quality beyond certifications and reviews. Any recommendations or experiences would be really helpful before I buy.

Water filter for water that tastes like Chlorine?

I have been thinking about getting a water filter for my flat because I have noticed that my tap water tastes a lot like chlorine and has a metallic taste. I have noticed that tea made from filtered water just tastes better. I am confused between getting a counterop filter and a faucet-mounted one or maybe just purchase a brita jug that I can fill with water and then I could use just that, but not sure if it would get rid of the chlorine taste?

I actually became aware of this when I went to a friends house and they made tea with filtered water that just tasted so much better. I want to purchase from a company that has a warranty so that if something happens I can get a refund with no problem, I am thinking if I purchase from a third-party seller like alibaba or amazon then I may not have a warranty on it.

Where can I find 3 hole pre punched paper in the UK?

I am looking for pre-punched 3 hole paper in the UK and I was surprised that it actually seems harder to find than what I had thought. I thought it would be commonly found because so many people use binders and folders in the UK but its actually something you can't find so easily. But maybe you can find it in a office stationery store that I am not aware of so was wondering if anyone could recommend an online site or store where I can purchase from.

I have been looking hole punchers that actually work but I am thinking this is just a more better and easier to do than to look for quality hole punchers. I have been looking at sites like Temu, aliexpress and alibaba to purchase wholesale amounts of office supplies to see if I can find it but I think its better I just buy from a local shop so I can be sure of the quality of the paper. My boss is anal and she will hit the roof if the paper is crappy.

Need quality hole punchers?

I work in the admin department of a hair salon and was wondering about new technology when it comes to hold punchers. Ours just don't work and area really frustrating when we need to punch documents to put in different binders. Our owner is old and old school so she wants a paper trail of every single thing. We have to hole punch paper and put them in binders for every single transaction or other financial information, she doesn't trust computers or the internet for some reason.

I am going a little crazy because although its really easy to print out the paper and even create different documents like invoices, purchase orders, I use AI for that, I have to actually file all this stuff away and hole punch it. So I have tried a few different ones but all of them are crap, any suggestions from anyone and also any suggestions on how to get my boss to go 100% digital like the rest of the world? In the meantime please suggest UK office supply sites that actually sell quality items and now just purchasing in bulk from sites like alibaba or amazon but actually have tested the office equipment before they sell it.

3 hole punchers or 2 hole punchers?

I need to order a bunch of hole punchers and I have been dealing with a lot of really crappy ones lately. I want to make sure that the hole puncher will be efficient when it comes to making holes in the paper and I don't have to run it through it multiple times before I get a clean hole. I have been using the smaller two-hole punchers for a long time, but was thinking of getting the three-hole ones because they save a lot of time. I wanted to know how others dealt with using this kind of hole puncher and if it was easier to use a two hole puncher rather than a three one.

Also in the beginning they are really sharp and you can make holes really easy that are sharp and clean, but what about when they have been used a few times and the punching mechanism becomes dull. What can you do to sharpen them, I have seen a bunch sold in bulk quantities on site like aliexpress, office depot, alibaba, and amazon but I want to purchas somemthing that I won't regret purchasing. Any recc's?

Can a power modular supply help organize power cables at workstation?

I work at the front desk of a salon and recently we had an issue with all of the cabling getting jumbled up and our computer getting unplugged so I recently started looking into modular power supplya accessories because the cable situation has become a complete mess. I have a lot of different things going on around like card machines, appointment tablets, ring lights etc and so I need something that can just organize all of these cables.

Would a modular power supply thing be able to do that? I think it will allow the cables to be organized in a cleaner and more organized manner. I understand that a lot of these systems will allow you to route different cables through one organized power setup instead of having seperate adapters all over the place. Does it help to reduce the clutter and make maintaenance easier.

Dry sauna for skin procedures?

I am looking at ways to combine skin services with a dry sauna setup for a salon I work at, because my boss thinks this could be a good idea and go along with some of the services we offer. She initially wanted to install a spa tub and sauna room but I convinced her just to do the sauna part and do a dry sauna.

She recently saw a reel about a salon/spa offering facials and body skin procedures that involved customers sitting in dry saunas to purge the skin of toxins. Has anyone heard of this? Is this even a thing, usually we just put one of thoes steaming things to do that, but my boss is saying if we want to do a full body exfoliotion then this would be the most effective way and also save a ton of time because customers would go in for a short amount of time and get enough humid moisture to get the job done, I am not sold on this idea. I was just wondering if others have expierenced this at a salon they have gone to? I am just wondering if its a dry sauna if there is enough humidity?

Dry saunas, has anyone tried one of these or used one?

I have been looking at home and salon wellness setups lately because my boss wants to set up a sauna in the salon she runs. Someone mentioned dry sauna's and I had never heard of it before so I was intersested in learning more about this. Apparently the sauna is heated using dry air with very low humidity which would work great in our salon set up because we don't want a lot of humidity due to a lot of blow drys and different kind of hairstyles being done.

I checked online and found a few listings on sites like amazon and alibaba that sell these dry sauna's at very affordable rates, like it would be a alot cheaper to install this versus a real sauna. Also we don't want our customeres to feel uncomfortable by a lot of moisture inside which can happen if you have a water sauna. Traditional heated stones or electric heaters create the heat and not the humidity which could actually work for us. I just don't know anyone who has actually used it before and wanted to know if anyone has installed it if they could give some tips on how effective they are and would they work in smaller spaces?

What services could be clubbed with a sauna at a spa?

I am now at a point where I have convinced my boss that a hot tub would not be a viable option for the salon, she is still very persistent about having a sauna and says we have an extra room that would be the perfect space for it. Brief recap my boss wants to introduce a spa-like expierence in her salon and wanted to install spa tubs and sauna rooms.

The hot tub would require changing rooms and a lot of other things that may not finally convinced my boss not to go all in on the hot tub installation idea for our spa expansion, mostly because the maintenance, water treatment, and liability side sounded like a nightmare long term. we could offer or group together with the sauna experience.

So now we are trying to see how much it would cost to install a sauna and what kind of services could we offer or group together with the sauna expierence. We are also looking at installation cost and browsed through a few websites like alibaba and amazon that advertised different kinds of materials that could be used to line the sauna and whether that would be cheaper. I still not sold on this idea but but think it is more doable than a hot tub. Any idea of what kind of salon services could be clubbed together with an hour sitting in the sauna?

I am looking into getting an auto starter for my car that I just purchased and realized that I dont know the first thing about this. I bought a Toyota Corolla 2005 recently and want to get an auto starter for it so need a little bit of advice please. I know that it should be compatible to the kind of car I have, that is common sense. But what about build quality and brand reputation? What else do I need to look at? Maybe, wiring compatibility, and supplier reviews?

I also want to know where I can purchase items like these, I found some really reasonbly priced kits on sites like alibaba and remotestarters and another site I can't remember something like fruggo uk. I was just wondering how important is it that I get one so that it has a warranty intact? Will a third party site have a warranty, and how do I protect myself to make sure that there is not a problem with refund, exchange or replacement if required?

I want to purchase a remote autostarter for my car and want to knwo what would be better, should I purchase a kit myself from like a reasonbly priced site that sells autoparts like amazon, alibaba, or partsinmotion, or autodoc or should I go to a mechanic and have them install it? I mean, if I purchase one, is it something that needs to be installed, or can I do it myself?

Sorry if I sound a little stupid, but I am not a car person and dont know the first thing about them, so I just wondering? I want the system to work and not have to go back and spend money to get it repaired or anything. I just feel like a lot of cars have remote autostart and my friend who just bought car said any car can get it installed and its not a big deal? Is this true, or is there some major rewiring that needs to take place?
