Best built-in-desk charging station

What is currently the best charging station I can buy? I want to have it built into the desk. It can be retractable or not.

Ideally:
- fast wireless charging (25W realistic?)
- 2-3 normal sockets (EU)
- highest possible W USB-C preferable

Will use it for MacBook and iPhone charging.

Thank you!

Cables up from back of desk

I’m building an Alex desk - two IKEA Alex draws with a worktop. It looks nice with the worktop pushed against the wall. I’m nearly ready to get my PC and electronics positioned and suddenly realised I need to run the wires up from under the desk to the top of the desk! I didn’t really want to leave a visible gap between the worktop and wall. What are my options?

I know the desks at work have holes drilled and plastic inserts that allow the wires to come up. Has anyone done this and drilled their own cable holes - I presume you can buy the covers? I’m not overly thrilled about drilling into my desk but not ruled it out.

Is there any nice profile that can be used to allow the cables to come up and cover any small gap? Seems like a nice option but I’ve never seen this sort of thing!

I know the easiest would be to just leave a gap but the worktop looks really nice tight up to the wall!

There's got to be a better way

I will start with, I know absolutely nothing about cable management. I am a dog groomer and I try to keep my station as tidy and possible but I'm really struggling with my chargers. I only have access to these two outlets, I can't move my table or my station. In the current layout if I lower my table without moving the cables it will slam my equipment on the ground.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Best products for organizing cables and tech

Hello guys, I recently upgraded my desk setup which I am using for gaming and work. One challenge I have noticed is the high number of cables that are on the desk and end up looking messy.I would like any ideas of what to do about them.I have been looking for some cable management products that are available on Alibaba and Amazon but I haven't made the decision on which ones to buy at the moment.I would like something that is not very conspicuous for aesthetic purposes and subtlety. I would also like the product to be relatively affordable as I have spent most of the cash on coming up with the setup and don't have much to spare on the cable management at the moment, though it is bugging me a lot.I would also like to know about any additional functional accessories that would allow to keep all the tech on my locker looking absolutely neat. I am looking forward to getting your insights on the best way to keep our desks clean.

How are you all hiding the cables above the desk?

This is my above desk and its the neatest I have ever been able to get. I have to have wired keyboard and mouse so thats two wires I cannot get rid of.

Need advice on how to organize my cables

I wanna organize these wires because it’s not a pretty view. one of the cables is a fiber optic cable if relevant. I need your advice on how I can organize them in a way that looks clean. Thanks!

Safe Cable Management?

Wondering if it's alright to have the desktop connected to the surge protector like this. I don't see why not, but I figured I'd ask in case it's a bad idea.

Need advice on cable management and routing Ethernet cleanly across my room setup.

Hey everyone, I’m gonna attach pictures of my setup and wanted some advice on cable management and networking ideas.

Setup pic

On the right side of the room, I have my main PC setup and desk. On the left side, I have another desk with my printer on it, and next to that is my 55 inch OLED TV on a TV stand. I’m planning to put an Xbox 360 and PS3 there as well.

The issue is that I want everything wired through Ethernet, but my router is on the right side of the room near the PC setup. I really do not want to run an Ethernet cable straight across the floor because I don’t want to step on it or make the room look messy.

I do have a gigabit Ethernet switch already, I think it has around 4 to 5 ports. I was thinking about buying a 100 foot Ethernet cable and routing it around the room somehow instead of across the floor.

What would you guys recommend for:

  1. Clean cable routing around the room.
  2. Hiding long Ethernet runs.
  3. Managing cables between the PC setup and TV setup.
  4. Any good wall clips, raceways, or other solutions.
  5. Whether I should just run one long Ethernet cable to the switch on the TV side.

Open to any setup improvement suggestions too.

Jerry-rig a cable holder with a bacon grilling rack

Macbook is a placeholder, new machine coming soon.

It's not perfect, but it's much better (look at the before, it's last pic) for 2-3 houre of work. I'll still have to install more stuff anyway.

I'm real proud of the way I put the powerbar (good ol Archer), it's so practical!

The small one came from my bedframe. I just hang it in there.

Yes this desk did have a cable basket thing at one point, but only reachable via the back.

Yes, I am Canadian.

Cable trays are one of those boring things I suddenly have opinions about

I’ve been trying to untangle the mess of cables under my desk, because it’s reached the point where unplugging one thing is like defusing a bomb. I began by checking out cable trays and somehow I found myself on Alibaba just browsing to see what’s available.

I thought a cable tray was just a metal basket you screw to the bottom of a desk, but there are way more styles than I thought. Some clamp on, some are plastic, some are mesh, some have lids, some look like they belong in a server room rather than a normal apartment.

Haven't published anywhere just curious if anyone else has gone weirdly deep into cable management and realized the "simple fix" isn't so simple.

What do I do? Surge protectors on both sides.

I have 14 devices that need to be plugged in. And The pc is on the opposite side of the outlet hence the decision to use 2 surge protectors. How can I make this way better? I don't want to have my pc on the other side of the desk.

Gotta work with what you got!

I moved into a new flat and had to get everything started first, then I bought a mini pc, that added 2 more cables to the top of the table. This took me 5 hours! Posting a before and after. Thank you all for the inspiration! Cheers!
