Absolutely loving this guy and already sunk $150 into upgraded injora brass parts & tires. Ready to throw the wallet at it to get this thing dead quiet so that the boss doesn’t hear it running lol. What do I need to replace?

I’ve seen people mentioning going brushless is a big difference but I’m not sure what setup to get, and I’ve also heard the receiver causes noise, but again not sure what to replace it with.

Willing to spend money on the motor/esc but I would rather keep the receiver/remote simple

Just grabbed this guy off marketplace for my dad, was noisy outside where we were testing it so I didn’t notice the grinding sound until I paid for it and took it inside.
Where should I be looking?

Bought it used for $600, VERY good condition but also very old. Absolutely nothing “wrong” with it, but the seller didn’t have batteries and I didn’t have any Traxxas ends so I had to take a risk and buy without running it. Turns out it’s an original 6s run which has been less than ideal speedwise.
Been talking back and forth with ChatGPT over the last few days and kind of at a loss of where to start.

1. The braking is horrendous, wheels don’t lock at all, kinda just rolls slower and eventually stops when applying brakes.
2. It’s probably at about 300lbs tops speed, I would like 40-50
3. There is half a second (probably less but I’m dramatic) delay when hitting the throttle and the car reacting

Anyone experienced with older Xmaxx’s with a recommendation of where to dive in first? Thinking about upping my pinion but the heating is getting pretty friggin hot running it as is (no fans)

I got back into RC about 4 weeks ago… I’ve built a small collection. Deals on Marketplace are just so hard to pass up. Been enjoying the tinkering side far more than I had expected

Started off 2 weeks ago with an Arrma Mojave Grom and ended this weekend with a $300 Kraton 6s off marketplace (with more than a couple in the middle).
Additionally I brought my dad back into the hobby, some of my earliest memories are him and I touring the hobby shops, and him and I had some of the best quality time this Saturday than we’ve had in years.
