Tyler is emotionally abusive

Watching OG for the first time, and all I can think about recently is how sad I feel for cate. Tyler has legitimately been gas lighting her for years.

He convinced her she had PPD. She legit said she was happy, but she’s overwhelmed because he doesn’t help. He made her see a therapist he front loaded his concerns to before she was seen.

He has tried for years to manipulate her into losing weight. He tries to play it off like he’s concerned about her health but it’s clearly beside he doesn’t want “a heifer for a wife”

Right now she just bought a micro pig. She was SO happy and excited to buy this pig. She drove there and was laughing, vibing with her mom. When the pig started to squeal, she became upset Tyler would wake up. When we next see them, she says they didn’t fight, he said “somethings still going on with you”.

Even back to 16&p, when cate tried to look at Carly when she was born, Tyler turned her head and said “she’s going to have a good life.” He CONSTANTLY says “we wouldn’t be together if he kept Carly. We wouldn’t have this life if we didn’t give her up”

For someone who does have mental health issues, along with clearly intense guilt about being a mom and giving Carly up, she was/is the perfect victim for Tyler’s gas lighting.

And he gets away with it! Everyone calls him a good guy. He just jumps the gun to explain his shitty behavior with “good intentions”. He wants to be seen as a good man, but this dude has always been a worm.

First time ever crocheting- feedback please!

Hi! As the title says, I decided to try crocheting today. I first learned how to make the magic ring, then watched a few tutorials for granny squares.

I feel like my yarn isn’t as secure as I’d like it to be. I fasten off when ending a color. What can i do to help the secure the yarn better?

Any other feedback is appreciated! Absolute newbie and looking to improve :)

Theory for the ending :)

Just thinking of a theory for the ending :)

Ever since Zeke started cooking with Bob, it became his future goal: to become a great chef like Bob and open a restaurant. When Zeke is old enough to work, he visits the restaurant and asks Bob to teach him what he knows. Moved and flattered, Bob agrees.

Tina and Zeke reluctantly become interested in each other, not wanting to betray jimmy jr. When they do eventually come out as a couple, jimmy jr is confused as to why they would keep it a secret- he didn’t consider his relationship with Tina to be anything serious.

Tina and Zeke become engaged. Bob becomes the dad he always wishes he had, and Linda the mother he was missing. Zeke said he felt like a belcher from day 1, and gayle says “then just be a belcher.” Bob responds to the idea of zeke taking Tina’s last name by saying “you could if you want. Youre already a belcher as far as were all concerned”

Gene makes music for a living, but he’s a behind the scenes kind of guy. He likes what he does, but he’s still yearns for the stage.

Louise resists cooking. She wants to do something completely different. She lands a well paying and exciting job where she’s constantly challenged, but stressed. She takes it out in baking- trying innovative flavors and experimenting. She makes delicious and creative (often dark in theme) desserts. She has the kind of obsessive passion about baking that Bob does about cooking. She has a meltdown when Tina points out that she’s just like their dad, but instead of a burger of the day, it’s the dessert of the day. She has a heart to heart with Bob, where he talks about how he felt like his life was exciting in just the normal day to day. What’s more exciting than getting to wake up everyday and do what you love, with the people you love?

When the building next door becomes available, the kids decide to buy it (Louise’s earned a lot over the years. She can’t really talk about it.) They can’t decide on a theme, so they eventually agree to all ideas. Multiple times a month they have events like open mic nights, board game palooza, movie events, murder mysteries etc. they theme the food and decor. Tina and sometimes Linda handle the front of the house. Tina uses the inspiration from the restaurant to write. She starts to read her short stories at their open mic nights, and a publisher takes an interest. She lands a weekly fiction column and instantly becomes a hit. Bob and Zeke run the grill, with an expanded menu. Louise handles dessert. Gene provides entertainment- his stage name is Ken. They name the restaurant “belchies”

Old tea: I need to discuss season 2

Doing my first full watch and obviously it is over a decade old, but Please give me the tea- I’m curious and impatient!

Farrah

  1. Do Deb, Michael and Farrah have a relationship now? How about with Sophia?
  2. Michael gives major weird vibes. I know he has to have tea.
  3. Is Deb still claiming to be the pious, religious woman she pretends to be in season
  4. Does Sophia have a relationship with any of her dad’s family? She is the spitting image of her father, and has a cousin almost the same age.

A poignant line from Farrah: “I need to find a creative solution to my money problems”. She’s still chasing that idea today lol

Gary and Amber

  1. Does Amber have borderline personality disorder? An angry narcissist? It’s something DSM diagnosable.
  2. Did child services open a case on her after this season?
  3. . Did MTV have an obligation to report ambers neglect and violence?
  4. Is Gary still friends with Jordan? That dude is a nightmare.

Gary did a few toxic things this season, but living with Amber would dysregulate a statue. I honestly felt bad for him putting his pride aside to stay with Leah and then her berate and belittle him.

Maci

  1. What made her interested in Kyle? He gives me such major red flags. He seems wishy washy af too
  2. . How much longer are they together? How long does she stay in Nashville?
  3. Why is Ryan always tired? He’s never not yawning.
  4. How long does Ryan live with his parents? They seem like they never

want him to leave the nest. The entire garage seems set up for him

Maci seemed pretty level headed this season, but I think Ryan was right- it was selfish of her to move Bentley away from all of his entire family so she could live with Kyle.

Catelynn and Tyler

  1. Is dawn a part of the story the entire time? Is it typical for an adoption counselor to stay in contact and to counsel teenage relationships?
  2. What happened between Cates mom and butch?
  3. Is catelynn in contact with her mom? They have such a toxic relationship, but they both seem to want to love each other. I hope they sought therapy

The best thing Tyler and catelynn could do for each other would be to split up. They both played the part of an old married couple, and immature kids.

First watch: 16&p Lori

What a wild episode. From the start, she didn’t want to give her baby up for adoption, but her parents INSISTED. At no point did it seem to click with Lori that it was HER choice. It was borderline traumatic watching as the boyfriend ripped the baby out of her hands to say goodbye.

And the boyfriend/dad- there was a moment at the hospital when he was looking at his son, clearly sad, and Loris mom said “They’re a lot of work”. He shot her a nasty glare, but ultimately, he decided it was too much work for him

I looked for an update AND MY GOD.

Season 1 Tyler

Insufferable. Everything that comes out of his mouth is revolting. Where does he get off having that level of confidence? Cate hyped him up way too much 😂 Every time he speaks, I wish he didn’t. Every thought he has, I’d rather he not.

Conspiracy theory

Farrah’s mom planted that Miss America entry letter. She waited until Farrah came home from the hospital so she could rub her nose in it.

Any other conspiracy theories?

16 and pregnant Farrah

On my first re/full watch and Farrah’s episode is heart breaking 😭 especially with hindsight

That poor girl went through labor alone. The nurses were calling her baby, telling her she was doing good and they were proud and holding hands as she cried in pain… as her mother sat back and watched. Oh, and took a few pictures, despite a legit film crew getting the entire thing.

You can tell earlier in the episode that the doctors, nurses and staff felt uncomfortable around Farrah’s family. One even said “we can discuss things on private if it makes them so uncomfortable”. Her mom actively tried to discourage her from breastfeeding by saying she’d have big saggy boobs

And she keeps saying “thank god my mom is going to be able to to help me out” as the nurses are literally showing her how to hold and feed her daughter

Where to watch (YouTube?)

Hi, I’d like to restart the series, but I really don’t want to give paramount money.

Any YouTube channels that you’d recommend (or other ways to watch?)

Fill me in- Ambers brother

Rewatching/catching up after abandoning the show years ago. I’ve caught bits and pieces over the years, but mostly about Cate and Tyler.

I’m rewatching ambers first episode. Amber seems SO fake sad about her brother being Iraq. It seems like such a show.

Is she still close to her brother?

Hey! So I’ve been on Semaglutide just about a year. I’ve lost almost 70 pounds. I’m not there yet, but I’m nearing a weight that I would like to maintain.

I am interested in staying on the medication because GLP-1 has truly changed my relationship with food, especially as someone who used to have an eating disorder.

Does anyone do this? What is your dosage if so?
