Subscriber breaks? Do they hurt or help?

So never experienced this until 1000 subscribers in. I share on social media and People are giving me grief about handing over their email to subscribe and saying things like “why can’t you just let us see it?” Or “why can’t you just post it here- I don’t want to give my email”

I know the Naptown newsletter lets people view it openly (but I don’t know if they always did) and mine is hosted on beehiiv so technically I could- but wouldn’t that prevent people from signing up?

I’m just confused on what the best process is.

Ugly designs and ignoring instructions. Anyone else?

I used to use cowork to mock up designs for me. Some of them were legit good and I was eager to implement them.

Now… they’ve been HORRIBLE. Like literally my grandma on Canva could do better.

And I tell it what to keep and what to change off of inspiration and it just completely ignores me.. but uses a ton of tokens making some rudimentary bs.

I actually better results from chat gpt!!!

I feel like I’m some crazy parallel universe.

Anyone else? What did you do?

(I did this same work well before in co work on sonnet- I’ve tried all levels of models and nothing is good.)

Where can I learn cold email prospecting?

I’m a business owner and trying to educate myself in various top of pipeline techniques.
I am looking to learn the best way to do cold outreach to various businesses. (I do B2B sales)
I’m wondering about wording (connecting, curious, their problem vs what I do) and also follow up sequences.

I know there are ai softwares out there that handle this but I’d really like to manage it myself if possible.

Hyper local newsletter sponsor pricing?

Main question is if anyone is willing to share what they charge at various subscriber levels?

I’m targeting local businesses, who don’t really understand CPM- but I’m trying to base pricing off of industry standards and norms.

I have two sponsor spots available and a more generic listing lower.
Top sponsor is before anything and the second sponsor isn’t too far down.

Right now I’m just breaking the 1k. I have an average of 55% open and those who open, open it roughly 2.15 times- making the impression higher than my subscriber rate.

I’d love input!

Opus and Sonnet aren’t showing their thinking process anymore?

Is this just me? It says thinking but when I click the expand arrow nothing shows up.

This is disappointing - I often got as much from the logic it was using as I did from the actual response.

Are there West Shore residents in here?

Just curious. I saw the west shore sub Reddit is dead, but I don’t see a lot of posts here about the West Shore.

Help! Too many subscribers? Need to monetize!

I mean- it’s a great problem to have but…

So I launched two newsletters two weeks ago- within a day of each other.
I didn’t expect them to grow very fast and figured I’d have like 3 months until I worry about monetizing.

Well- I was wrong.

The first is at 689 subscribers and I’m more in tune with what I need to do there because it’s a local newsletter and the community is loving it so far. I have some great ideas of who might want to sponsor it and I’m starting an outreach protocol. (And I have almost a 60% open rate and 10% ctor. So I hope those people will be eager to be part of this.

The second is at *gulp* 1,739. It’s a niche (herbal medicine) that I love. And now I want to find really good sponsors that fit the niche.

I have a 22% open on the latest issue (23.54 overall) and 5.32 click to open (4.72 overall) rate.

Is there a standard way to reach out to these large companies and ask for sponsorship/ ads? Like an email to a specific job title at the company?

I’m also working on some affiliate links (not Amazon but niche specific).

I’d love to get some quick money on this since I now have to upgrade from free due to my subscriber count. But I don’t want to do the generic in house advertising that beehiiv offers.

Does anyone have experience reaching out to large corporations? Who do you ask for? How do you make them want to be part of your little newsletter when they are so big? Or maybe I need to find companies that are not so big…

Thoughts?
