Paper Plane glassware question: is a 6 oz coupe the right size?

Recently tried a Paper Plane at a jazz bar and I fell in love with it on the first sip. Now I’m trying to recreate it at home, but I’m unsure what glassware works best.

I was thinking of buying coupe glasses—specifically one that holds about 6 oz from Crystalex. I’ve seen lots of people recommend the Libbey coupe, but it’s difficult to find here in Europe.

Would a 6 oz coupe be a good size for a Paper Plane, or should I go bigger or smaller? Also, if you have suggestions for coupe glasses that are versatile for other cocktails too, I’d love to hear them.

Best Starter Tequilas for a Beginner?

I’m pretty new to tequila and mezcal, and I’d love some recommendations for a good starter lineup. I’m in Germany, so my options feel more limited than in the US.

I’ve been reading reviews on this subreddit and on TMM, and I’m leaning toward starting with blancos first, then moving up to reposados and (eventually) mezcal.

I’m planning to order these bottles for my first picks:

  • El Tequileno Blanco
  • Olmeca Altos Plata
  • Ocho Plata Tequila
  • Espolón Tequila Blanco

For someone just starting out, what do you think of these choices especially in terms of value/price? I’m mainly looking for bottles I can sip neat (or with a splash of something), and I’d also like at least one that’s good for making ranch water.

Also, what type of glass would you recommend for drinking tequila, and what types are typically available here in Germany?

OUTLAW COUNTRY — backroads, bonfires & whiskey‑worn stories (curated playlist)

Hey y’all! I put together a playlist of modern outlaw and alt‑country for late‑night drives, porches, and dive bars. Think Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Colter Wall, Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, Brent Cobb, plus hidden gems and gritty covers.

If you like gravel‑road storytelling, whiskey‑soaked vocals, and songs that feel lived‑in, give it a spin. I update it monthly with new dusty finds. Feedback, must‑adds, or artists I should feature next are welcome.
