Finally diagnosed

I was diagnosed earlier this week and I didn’t even know this was a thing but once I did it was like my entire life made sense, in that the crazy chaos that is my brain is acting like a Schizotypal individual brain does. The real relief though is that I now know I am not shy, I now know I don’t need to smile more, I now know what I am.

The problem now arises that I want to take everyone that has shit on me for the past forty-five years and tell them to piss off. I want to tell therapists that told me to make friends or match other people’s energy and to stop being pessimistic and enjoy life more. I want apologies I want people to say sorry for beating you up physically and mentally and emotionally for just wanting to breathe and be left alone. Then I want them to promise to let people be who they are and not judge them stop beating them over the head with the preconceived notions of normal. Because here is the headline NO ONE IS NORMAL!

Thank you for your time.

Richard Feynman on science, doubt and the limits of what we can know

Physicist Richard Feynman reflects on what science can and can't tell us about the world.

Science may never provide final answers about meaning, our place in the universe or where we're going.

For Feynman, that isn't a failure. The point is to keep investigating without deciding beforehand what nature must be. And to remain open to the possibility that "everything is possibly wrong."

Is there a different diagnosis for stress disorders than just PTSD?

If people refer to their job as causing PTSD. I disagree with that assessment for the following reasons.

  1. as it is their current position Post does not fit.
  2. While there are a thousand “mirco-traumas” a day I don’t think traumatic is an accurate definition

So my question is. Is there an aggregate stress disorder? Something where you are constantly under undue stress but you have to be there forty hours a week. The job in itself wouldn’t be stress and hasn’t been stressful in the past just new management and a generally meaner public service environment result in constant degrading morale and chaos for the sake of chaos. Thank you.

Consciousness and Memory

I am looking for research on the terminus of consciousness and the origination of memory. When does conscious thought become memory? It is reminiscent of Dennett’s “Stalin and Orwellian court”memories in “Consciousness Explained”. I had one of those drifting off to sleep thoughts and rather than come here with half baked “I’ve been thinking” posts where I think I just rewrote millennia of philosophy;
I would ask for some material instead. Thank you all in advance.

My wife demanded it be thrown in the compost. I said “Sure but reddit first”.

Cylinder moving through a chamber

Is there a law, principle, observation, etc that dictates the maximum size a piston can be relation to a chamber before the friction makes it impossible to move. Like law of diminishing returns or how nothing can go faster than the speed of light. Thank you.
