First Fuji: X-M5 vs X-E3?

I’m looking for my first Fuji camera and deciding between the X-M5 and X-E3.

I like the X-M5 because I can buy it new and get newer features, but I’m worried about not having a viewfinder, especially for sunny days, travel, and street photography.

I like the X-E3 because it has an EVF, better build, and a rangefinder-style body, but I’d have to buy used.

I’m a product design student, so I’d use it for product/portfolio photos, but also travel, friends/family, everyday carry, and street photography.

Which would you recommend? what affordable lenses would pair well with either body? Where are the best places to look for purchasing these cameras?

Hi,

I'm a product design student at the University of Minnesota doing research on how people plan and organize their home gardens, especially focusing on layout and spacing decisions.

I've been interviewing gardeners and noticed that planning is often one of the most difficult parts of the process.
