Puro doompost (?) nakikita ko regarding sa job market ngayon especially sa field na to so maiba naman share your "wag mawalan ng pag asa experience" dito..

I got laid off very recently so puro related lay off posts nassearch ko which just feeds my pessimism. Siyempre i dont want this to become some toxic positivity thread either maybe just balance it out or smth if that makes sense. Anyway it doesn't have to be that very good news , meh or pwede na news are also welcome anything news that makes your life right now somewhat better compared to before especially if you're also like me who got hit by that laid off news.

Got laid off - should i renegotiate the compensation?

Got laid off recently and I'm still debating if I should try to negotiate the separation package or just accept it.

For context I've been with the company for less than 2 years as a regular employee. Management recently decided to close our team and our positions are being removed. Several of us are affected. I didn't resign and the separation was initiated by the company.

They're offering me around 2 months of base salary as separation pay, on top of the usual final pay/benefits. They're also asking us to sign a mutual separation agreement and quitclaim.

Tbh this is where I'm conflicted. Considering I haven't even been with the company for 2 years, 2 months doesn't seem like a terrible offer. Part of me thinks I should just take it and move on.

On the other hand, everything happened on pretty short notice. From what I've read, if they went through the redundancy route, there are notice requirements to both the employee and DOLE. We definitely weren't informed a month in advance.

The company also recently brought in some people with broader roles who are apparently staying, although I don't know enough to claim that they directly replaced us. The company is also undergoing restructuring and moving toward a different setup. I intend to be vague on this part so I wouldn't dox myself much, I guess lol.

At least one other affected employee is planning to negotiate instead of immediately signing. I'm considering doing the same and asking for a higher separation amount. Ideally I'd like to end up somewhere around 4–6 months, although I'm thinking of opening higher and seeing if they're willing to meet somewhere in the middle.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying I'm legally entitled to that amount. I mostly want to see if there's room to negotiate since they're asking me to mutually agree to the separation and sign a quitclaim.

My biggest concern is whether trying to negotiate could backfire. Can the company withdraw the current 2-month offer and replace it with something lower if I don't immediately agree? Could negotiating also make the release of the payments take significantly longer?

There's also some uncertainty about how the separation payment will be taxed, which I plan to clarify before signing anything. Since management avoids to mention the official reason.

I haven't received the actual quitclaim/agreement yet, so I'm thinking of reviewing that first before making my decision.

For anyone who've experienced layoffs/redundancy in , especially anyone familiar with HR/labor practices, would you try negotiating in this situation or would you consider the current package good enough and just accept it?

Would also appreciate hearing from anyone who successfully negotiated a separation package here and how it went.

tldr: company is closing our team and gave us only a few days' notice. i'm a regular employee with less than 2 years tenure. they're offering around 2 months' salary as separation pay + 1 month notice pay + the usual final pay/benefits but they're asking us to sign a mutual separation agreement and quitclaim, not formally presenting it as redundancy.

i know the statutory separation pay for redundancy is based on tenure and i'm not claiming i'm legally entitled to more. my question is: since this is a mutual separation + quitclaim, can i negotiate for a higher separation package before agreeing to sign?

is there a risk that simply countering could cause the company to withdraw or lower the current 2 month offer?

pinoy support group for victims of infedility? or give me some advice if you've been in the same situation.

not for me but pero sa nanay ko , i honestly don't know how to help so I thought about finding some support group who knows better how to cope or deal with it?

i wanna be there for her emotionally but i have no idea how to and i do have some stuff going on so i cant give my 100% and i feel bad about it. senior na siya actually and hindi na bago yung cheating ng kumag kong "tatay" i dont know how many times pero for sure baka more than 3 times na (nag kaanak pa nga). tbh desensitized na din ako sa ganap nilang dalawa. wala na akong pake sa lalaki (been ignoring him, ~~tho im probably like that to others too kek~~) and I've been telling my mother to do the same pero after all these years wala mahal pa din ata talaga 🤦‍♀️

problem with my mother is that shes been forgiving her scumbag husband after some cool off time without even apologies (or maybe he did but what even is the point kung di naman talaga nagsisisi)

shes been doing some irrational decisions like going back to the province after niyang malaman na may kinakasama yung lalaki doon sa probinsya . the scumbag's bitch even had the gal na ireklamo yung nanay ko. also found out that she was still texting the scumbag to boot.

im at the point that im just tired seeing my mother acting like this. i understand naman kung bakit ganito siya pero part of me cant help but also see her actions as pathetic? i sympathize but more than that I just feel this way towards her. please enlighten me , i might need some scolding too.

that being said if there's a support group for my mom that would be nice

~~you might think na ang shitty ko namang anak, i think so too.~~
