POV: Steroline had chemistry💖

I'm so tired of people saying Steroline didn't have chemistry. Personally I saw the chemistry between them. It was just different from that of the toxic couples that were solely based on sexual attraction.

Paul Wesley once jokingly said that Delena sounds like a disease, and Steroline sounds like a cure to the disease. And that's what Steroline was to me: a cure to Delena. Firstly, because after 2 seasons of waiting in vain for Elena to come to her senses and return to Stefan (who clearly deserved better than Damon), I finally saw Stefan move on and find another love interest, a girl who was always team Stefan and would choose him over any other man. And secondly, because Stefan and Caroline's relationship wasn't solely based on sex.

I was so tired of Delena, who were just arguing and having sex all the time. They couldn't control themselves even at school or before their friends' wedding. But that's not what love is, imo. Caroline and Stefan shared a deep connection, respect and understanding and felt profound admiration and affection for each other. I liked how vulnerable Caroline was around Stefan, how every touch from him would give her butterflies.

And I actually like the fact that Stefan's feelings for Caroline were different from his feelings for the doppelgängers, because if he only fell in love twice in 145 years, both times with the same face, and neither of those relationships worked out, then he must have been doing something wrong. His love for Caroline was soft, pure and tender, unlike his passionate love for the doppelgängers, and I think Caroline was exactly what he needed after all the heartbreak he had experienced.

Was Elena telling the truth under Rebekah's compulsion or was what she was saying influenced by the sire bond?

I guess this has been discussed a lot. But what are your thoughts? Was Elena telling the truth about how she felt about Damon and Stefan under Rebekah's compulsion? Or was she just saying what the sire bond made her feel?

And yes, I know she was still in love with Damon and chose him after the sire bond got broken. But do you think the sire bond has somehow altered her feelings for the brothers? Or was she falling more in love with Damon and out of love with Stefan naturally even before the sire bond?

Why couldn't Stefan fall in love again for 145 years until he met Elena?

Damon was obsessed with Katherine for 145 years, but Stefan wasn't. Why do you think he couldn't fall in love with anyone until he met Elena? Was it because of the doppelgänger prophecy? Or because Stefan didn't take time to get to know other women? Or did he still have some lingering feelings for the kind and innocent girl he used to think Katherine was when he first met her?

Do you think Klaus would want Hope's boyfriend to treat her like he treated Caroline?

I've never watched the spin-offs, but I've heard Klaus had changed for his daughter Hope. Do you think he would want his daughter to be treated the way he treated Caroline? Would it be OK for him if someone hurt his daughter repeatedly, but then saved her from himself (after some begging) and gave her some presents?

"Stelena was supposed to be endgame", but "the writers didn't make Klaroline a couple bc they feared they would overshadow Delena"?

Am I the only one who finds these 2 statements contradictory? I mean if the writers wanted to make Stelena endgame, why would they worry that Klaroline could overshadow Delena? Shouldn't they have worried it would overshadow Stelena? Or that Delena would overshadow Stelena? Or did they think that no couple could overshadow Stelena, but any couple could overshadow Delena? I don't understand.

What are the most ridiculous TVD opinions that you've seen on TikTok/YouTube?

For me it's:

  1. Damon is the better brother.
  2. Stefan only loved Elena bc she looked like Katherine. Damon loved her bc she was nothing like Katherine.
  3. Katherine was Stefan's true love.
  4. Klaus was Caroline's true love/ Klaroline were soulmates.
  5. Klaus treated Caroline better than Tyler and Stefan.
  6. Anna was Jeremy's true love (OK, I'm not sure about this one, but I feel like he cared about Vicki and Bonnie more).

Do you consider TVD misogynistic?

I find it a bit frustrating that many male villains, like Damon and Klaus, got a redemption arc despite all the horrible things they had done, but Katherine didn't. I know she didn't really try to change, but neither did Damon and Klaus. And Katherine had more reasons to become evil: her baby taken away, her family slaughtered, being on the run from Klaus for 500 years. Damon became evil just because a girl he was in love with also liked his brother. Klaus became evil, because his father didn't love him, which is a slightly more valid reason than Damon's, I think, but still not as valid as Katherine's.

There are also too many bad boy/good girl ships on the show (Delena, Klaroline, Bonenzo) where the female characters see the good in their abusers and forgive them for trying to kill them or for killing and abusing their relatives and friends. Meanwhile Stefan didn't want to be with Katherine the moment he found out she was evil. Why do women on this show forgive their abusers so easily?

Why are love triangles with 1 girl & 2 boys more popular than those with 1 boy & 2 girls?

I honestly can't remember any show where a man couldn't decide which of his 2 love interests he loved more. But TV shows where a girl is torn between 2 boys (often brothers) are so popular: The Vampire Diaries, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Never Have I Ever etc. And those girls are often not very likable, because if they can't choose between 2 boys, for me it feels like they don't love either of them enough and they also lead one of them on.

Stefan & Caroline - 4x19 #1 (You'll meet someone new and you'll fall madly in love)

"The writers only made Steroline a couple because Nina left the show after S6"

Then how do you explain the way Stefan and Caroline look at each other at the end of this video from S4?

Which Salvatore brother do you think Elena would have chosen, if she had met them in 1864?

Imagine Elena had been born in the 19th century and met the Salvatore brothers in 1864 instead of Katherine. Which brother do you think she would have chosen?

Doppelgängers' genetics

I've just realized that both John and Isobel have blue eyes. Meanwhile Elena has brown eyes, which is extremely rare for someone with 2 blue-eyed parents. So it got me thinking about doppelgängers' genetics. Does Elena share 50 % of each of her parents' DNA, like ordinary people, or is her DNA identical to Katherine's?

And what if one of Amara's or Silas's doppelgängers were born into a family of people from a different race than theirs, like black people for e.g? I bet their parents would be very surprised.

Tom & Elena

Do you think Elena and Tom would have fallen in love with each other, if they had actually met? And if Elena had to choose between Tom and Stefan or between Tom and Damon, who would she have chosen?

Delena vs Klaroline (Which one is more toxic?)

Klaus tried to kill Caroline several times, often shouted at her and threatened her, ruined her relationship with Tyler, killed Tyler's mom and Elena's aunt. Damon didn't hurt Elena physically (as far as I remember), but killed ppl she loved just to make her suffer every time she rejected him, often invaded her privacy, tried to compel her to kiss him or forced her to kiss him, SAed Caroline and tried to kill her and Bonnie.

So, who do you think treated his love interest worse: Klaus or Damon?

Name one thing for which Elena wouldn't have forgiven Damon

Elena forgave Damon for killing her brother and her college friend and for abusing her best friend. Do you think there was anything for which Elena wouldn't have been able to forgive Damon?
