Will I ever get to improve my -8 and -12 eyesight?

I've been wearing glasses since as far as I can remember my childhood. I sorta just accepted it as hereditary and will most likely live out my lfie with glasses. I don't really get my eyes checked regularly due to financial reasons and in highschool I'd even wear the same glasses for years and change only when I see significantly worse than before.

I'm 25 now and just got my eyes checked again to get new glasses and its still -8 on my left and -12 on my right eye. This was the same a year ago at 24 when I could actually afford to have better glasses and regular checkup since having my own job. Before that the last grade I remember was -8.5 and -10 respectively.

I've always feared my eyes would give out later in life and I'm deathly afraid of going blind. Is there any way I can improve my eyesight this time around? I've heard about progression still continuing past 25-ish. I don't have the financial freedom to look into surgery in my country for now and all I can do is correct it with glasses.

Any chance for a physical ticket for Undertale The Determination Symphony?

First time attending an event that's purchased via ticketmelon. Do they offer physical tickets or just the digital one? I really want a physical remembrance for it, would the event offer something similar? Also never attended a live orchestra before so feel free to drop things I should expect/tips, thanks!

How do you even make friends in your mid-20s?

I'm 25F and my routine for the past 2 years has just been work and staying at home. I do go to concerts and the cinema solo but never really had the urge to make friends during those events cus we're all there for one purpose and everyone has their own lives planned out for the day/with other people.

What's worse is that I work mid-shift so I wake up at 11am (when people are already at work), go to work at 3pm (most would be nearing the end of their shift) then go home at around 1-2am (when people are obviously asleep already). I'm not gonna lie though I love this shift schedule cus there's basically no one except maintenance people at the office so I just do what I want (listen to podcasts, maybe read for a bit while I wait for meetings and such).

During weekends, I usually just catch up on movies/series/books and am too tired from my 50 hour work week to be active during the day. I don't go to bars/clubs, that life is not for me, I don't even drink. I'm on social media and mostly interact offhandedly with people from across the world (again, my active hours are flipped) but that doesn't really go anywhere near something like genuine connection.

How can I interact better with a work friend I'm going to a book fair with?

So she's been my "work friend" since I got into this company (first job so still very unsure of things) and we recently got to talking more since she got onboard to my current project. We mostly talk "about" our interests but not necessarily the contents of them if that makes sense? She knows I like horror/psychological stuff, mostly watch movies and only started reading recently + I know she's quite the reader and is more into mystery/crime and we kinda just stop there? Like we recommend each other things we think the other would like but don't necessarily delve deep into why (I would love to talk about it more but I don't wanna cross any boundaries like idk if we're at that level of closeness?)

Anyway, admittedly at age 25 I have no real close friends especially since I wfh and night shift sooo no other interactions outside of work tbh. I just legit have nothing to say most of the time so its rare that we got to talking to this level. I thought I really should put myself out there again and she brought up a book fair in a couple of months so I agreed! But now I'm like hmm what should we talk about apart from just browsing books? Like I said I only started recently and am still working on my reading habits (still a bit slow) so I have a lot of backlog and can't quite keep up at her pace. I do know some that I'm interested to see there but idk if I can continue to commit to them this fast.

I kinda went on a tangent there but tl;dr: Work friend invited me to go to a book fair and as a newbie to reading, how do I converse or interact better with her?

Turning 25 this month and I'm feeling the loneliness again

I'm 24F - living with my parents, have a stable tech job and mostly work from home, have a bunch of hobbies keeping me busy and I haven't had any meaningful friendships since 2019.

I was very loud and energetic when I was a kid but over the years I've grown to be ashamed of that and turned to being "the quiet kid" who people either think was just being shy or straight up mute. I wouldn't say I didn't have any friends but outside of school, I barely interact with them at all (so was I ever even a friend to them?). Middle school was when I really had solid friendships and then it bled into my "personal world" a little too closely that obviously the only choice for me was to shut them out and keep my distance. From then on I learned my lesson and kept everyone at a safe distance. Slowly, I've built more and more walls and kept convincing myself no one would really care if I disappear, I can make my life meaningful without friends, its just a lit more work for them to deal with me anyway.

In the end though I thought - what a sad world I've built for myself, I'll make big changes to my life when I'm in college! and of course it started off with the pandemic by then, obviously, I just gave up having any ounce of social life. Even online I can't keep up conversations and inteacting with anyone always boiled down to becoming too much and too exhausting. So I've decided to go back to being content with my own world, be content with no other close people in my life apart from my family.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not always just in our house with nothing to do, I actually love going out on my own to concerts or the cinema. I just ignore people and bury the fact that there are things I want to do but can't cus I do need people and I do get lonely. Approaching the last year of the first quarter of my life like this though, admittedly, makes me just, sad. I know I should make an effort to meet people and improve myself but it doesn't help the fact that my shift hours are the opposite of other people (night shift) and I think I'm way too old to not know how to converse with people. I feel like a child in a grown adult's body and I don't knwo where to start at this point.

I can't decipher what was said in this song

here's the link: https://youtu.be/EbI7niNxIF0?t=256

I've been trying to understand what the lyrics at around 4:16 are. So far I got "set your ... let the stars guide you home" but idk what the word after "your" is. To me it sounds like "sensor" but I don't think that makes sense. English isn't my first language and I believe the band is from the UK so I might just not be catching the accent.

La La Land 10th Anniversary

Honestly never watched it til this year since becoming a fan of Ryan Gosling bc of PHM but I get the hype now and I'm really hoping we get something for the 10th anniversary. Is it possible for a rerelease in the cinema? I think there was the orchestra event in the US I think and I'm seeing possible screening around July for them. Am I getting my hopes up too much to see La La Land in the big screen? :')

How do you stay focused when reading?

I'm not really a book reader myself but I have read some books when I was young, I've always read manga, web comics, listened to narrative podcast, etc. cus I still want to engage in stories outside of movies/series. Recently wanted to get into it mainly cus I want to lessen my screen time and want to exercise my brain more ig?

Just to preface, I'm not diagnosed with anything so I'm not sure where this quirk is coming from but years later I'm still having a hard time focusing on the words I'm seeing. I understand them and "see" the events in my head but sometimes I drift and have to reread paragraphs til it stick. This honestly frustrates me cus I know I'm engaged with the story its just hard to get through more than a 5 page chapter the whole day. I think is my eyeisight (-8, -12) always plays a role, my vision makes me have to put the book literally inches from my face. But now, I've gotten a bit better bc I set time to read them out loud to myself. This is also why I search for books with audio narration.

I want to know what you guys do too like id there any environment changes you made to address this issue? Also curious if you guys read multiple books at ones cus I'm trying to get through the shining (slowly) and committed to finishing it first before the others but since getting project hail mary, I kinda wanna switch up for a bit.

I've worn glasses my whole life and never really paid attention to how distorted my glasses made me look. Over the years it has become progressively worse and atp I've just accepted this is how I look. The past year though I had a significant change in my eyeglasses grade with my left being -8 and right a -12. I've seen people here post about their high prescription glasses, a lot even higher than mine but not quite a 4 grade difference so my small eyes are way smaller and the unevenness look so off-putting.

I have a small kind of oval shape glasses that doesn't go over my face width but it's still very significantly noticeable. Might try to get contact lenses if that's even possible with my eye grade but atp I've just been losing confidence the more I see candid pictures of me. I have history with self image and insecurity and having bad eyesight is definitely contributing a lot.

Would appreciate any tips for frames or contact lenses possibly, maybe even share pics of your own high and uneven prescription cus its been hard not to be vain about all this.
