Just finished S12Ep01…

And I’m done trying to like Sam. Like, I get it. She was groomed as a teenager and wound up saddled with a kid she didn’t want, but holy shit is she infuriating.

She lets Steve lie to her son about where he is, which prompts him to go to Colorado, and then she spends the whole episode proving Kerry right that she has no impulse control. She disregards every piece of advice gets, wrecks her car and nearly kills her and Luka, and gets unbelievably lucky that the cops find Alex because she had ZERO idea what she was going to do when she got to Colorado anyway. Then, for all that, she throws it in Luka’s face that he wants to be a good partner and a father figure for Alex.

Deep down, Sam is still a rebellious teenager. She loves Steve, she loves the the chaos, loves the thrill, loves the attention, and doesn’t really care all that much that it’s ripping Alex apart. Fuuuuuuuuuuck Sam.

Just started S9, couldn’t help but cheer when Romano slapped down Weaver via cactus.

Kerry Weaver is a gifted administrator and excellent physician, but she’s a cutthroat ladder climber first and foremost. It feels pathological sometimes; like she’d personally prefer to be a people person who has deep bonds with others, but she can’t stifle the instinct to kill or be killed. So when Romano goes into the hospital, Weaver immediately starts angling for his job. And Romano, unlike Greene, wasn’t too meek to drop the hammer on Weaver immediately.

Romano is far from perfect, but it was good to see somebody not only stand up to Kerry but absolutely shut her down.

Let’s put ourselves in their shoes.

Imagine this:

- you’re born with limited prospects.
- you score a sweet gig working for the royal family in the Red Keep.
- one of the King’s spoiled kids takes a liking to you.
- they make an advance, but you say no.
- they persist, and you relent because of the massive power disparity.
- the event scars you mentally and emotionally.
- Queen Alicent finds out, and uses the same power disparity to get what she wants from you.
- you are Ser Criston Cole.
- pic unrelated.
