18 y/o going on roadtrip NO CCDW permit

Going on a roadtrip starting in kentucky and going through these states

- kentucky
- indiana
- illinois
- missouri
- kansas
- colorado
- wyoming
- idaho
- washington
- montana
- oregon
- california
- nevada
- arizona

I do NOT have a CCDW permit. I will be driving through these states, hopefully with a handgun. i will be stopping at national parks and am hoping to have the handgun for safety when car camping and when hiking possibly for extra protection. However I am a little worried about the legal complications when traveling and for storage. I already know for the super strict states like CA, OR, and Illinois that it needs to be locked in a lockbox unloaded. However here in KY that would be concealed.

I WILL be sleeping overnight in the car with the rear passenger seats folded exposing the trunk of the car.

in short is there a way for me to do this road trip while having a handgun in the car LEGALLY? I’ve been researching it but i feel like i’m going crazy trying to sort through this legal jargon. 😂

any help or advice is appreciated, thank you!

Anyone taking squirrels to eat?

I enjoy hunting squirrels but don’t like to process and eat them. Obviously not going to hunt them then let em go to waste. Anyone near E-town willing to take them when I go hunting??

I’m 18 and cannot stop thinking about Death, the purpose of things, and how nothing really matters.

I’m 18 y/o just graduated high school and not going to college, yet. I feel like i’m literally going INSANE. I think a lot, i’m just thinker. I have lots of thoughts. They somehow always end up in a dark place. Talking with my parents and i realize they’re not going to be here forever. This goes for anyone in my family. Then I realize I won’t be, and I start thinking how pointless a job is and working it every day when that’s not really my purpose. It makes me just want to cry I feel like I think too much and I don’t know what to do. Everything leads to me being depressed. I feel like i’m too aware of things and that’s a gift and a curse. I’m aware of these things and it makes me value them more but whenever I think of, for example, my parents trying to help me and i’m bitter towards them it chokes me up because I don’t want to be that way. yet I still am no matter what I do and then I realize they won’t be here forever and blah blah blah it’s a loop.

long story short I feel like i’m going damned INSANE. My internal monologue feels like it’s ripping itself apart and I HATE IT! I don’t know where else to talk about this so I chose here, I’d like to think i’m quite religious. Idk. Don’t know if anyone has similar experiences or any advice. Just feel like i’m driving myself to a point of insanity.

Women’s vs. Men’s Backpacks

Found a kick ass deal on a hyperlite 55L backpack near me for a really good price but it’s Women’s. I’m a man with broader shoulders but a little bit of a bigger chest. It’s a size medium. For reference i’m 5’8-5’9 180lb. Would it be an issue for me to get it or should I just wait for a different deal to pop up.

Should I pick it up?

I have a 28L bag right now but am thinking I might be needing a bigger bag with everything i’m going to be taking out on 1-2 night camping trips.

Would I (18y/o solo M) be able to book my own rentals on a roadtrip across [USA]

Going on a roadtrip East to West coast and my budget would allow about 1 “luxury” AirBnB rental a week. However my age is also a concern. I’ve seen other threads on the similar topic but that has included like 5 people and partying. I would just be stopping in for a single night solo to sleep in a bed, have a shower, wash clothes. Ya know.. Would I be able to rent condos/ homes/ rentals?

Is this over the top?

Just graduated high-school and saving up money to go on a trip. I’d like to go around September ish and go car camping across the U.S. and make my way west. From there i’d like to backpack in some national parks/ just out there ya know? I will definitely be carrying a handgun with me (9mm) but have heard 9mm is a bit questionable for bear defense. I have/ am getting a marlin 1895 trapper in 45-70 here soon and am wondering if it would be “doing too much” to have it strapped on my backpack with a quick release sling for bear defense. ALSO I have friends i’d like to surprise in alaska, which I think has more dangerous game, so might take the trip up there too. This is a very loosely thrown together plan and so I haven’t stress tested anything yet. Just looking to see what some more experienced backpackers have to say :) Thank you!!

Kentucky Antique show/ Flea Markets

i’m looking for some good “hole in the wall” flea market type ordeals. Used to go to them with my papaw when I was younger and would love to go to some more. I feel like you can only know about them by word of mouth though. I live in northern kentucky but have family near E town. I watch chief smoke em on youtube and he’s always going to these antique shows and seeing guns and stuff. I’d love to go and pick some up. Any help would be nice :)

Kentucky House Bill 312

I can’t tell whether or not 18 y/o - 20 y/o are able to get conceal carry permits now or not. I checked my local sheriffs office and it said 21+ but it has already been signed in. On youtube from the official KYHouseGOP account- https://youtu.be/Wu-v4Rx28HI?si=G8tsFEMXjxsFOOMO

does anyone have any insight? I’m not a lawyer or anything so any help would be appreciated lol. Should I just call my sheriffs office?
