Would I really need teeth extracted for my braces?
Spoiler tag for the very awkward photos
I went to the orthodontist yesterday and they told me I would need four teeth pulled for them to properly align and "fix" my teeth. Now, my teeth definitely aren't causing problems in my life, but I would like them to be straightened. I've seen things about how people getting teeth extracted messed with their jaws and affects their airways long term, and being very self conscious about my face, I do not want problems like those. Are having teeth extracted really necessary for me? Not to bash professionals, but I feel like my only real problems are my overbite and lower crowding and don't feel like extraction is necessary for me.
