Map for Darker Shade of Magic?

Hi, I'm 50% through Darker Shade of Magic on audio, and am so hooked! I keep looking up if there is a map for this book, but results are all book sellers, pinterest and etsy. I can't see anything that feels like an official map, and I don't want to dig too deep and spoil myself. Is there an official map to go along with the book, or is it all just fan art? Thanks!

Help for first time fruit vinegar at home please?

I am attempting to make fruit vinegar and put:

  • Roughly 3.5lbs of plums
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1/2 C + (couple days later 2 TB) raw apple cider vinegar
  • Enough water to cover everything

All added into a 1 gallon jar

Did this July 31. I've stirred it 3x/day, and it's plenty warm in my house, but still no indication of fermentation. So I got some Champaign yeast (LALVIN EC-1118).

But since it's been 8-9 days, do I remove the fruit before adding? Or add with all the fruit still?

And how much of the yeast should I add given how much is in the jar (about 3/4 gallon).

It does seem pretty thick at this point as most of the fruit has broken down except for the skins. Should I add more water?

Other tips? Big thanks!

Brewing/Fermenting Ingredients in Portland-proper?

FH Stienbarts being closed but not closed but now something else for...commercial use mostly is throwing me off. I'm looking specifically for champaign yeast, but also some other dried flavor adds (not syrups). You know, like Stienbarts had.

Recent-ish posts seem to say new Stienbarts/Perfect Pour does not carry this stuff.

Are my only options really Gresham, Hillsdale, or Vancouver? I thought we were Beer City and weird ferments city USA?

Ideally I need the yeast today (Sunday), which I know if my own poor (pour?!) planning.

Thanks for the help!

What's normal indoor humidity levels this time of year for people without ACs?

I checked some older posts, but they mostly reference winter time humidity.

I live in a 1950s ranch, with a dirt crawlspace. I don't have AC. It's pleasant out and not raining for a while now.

Yet my thermostat keeps giving "high humidity" warnings of 68-72% for the past couple weeks (so also when it was raining). I have had the windows both open (like now) and closed (like 2 days ago when it was in the 60s outside) and get these alerts.

I have had my furnace turned off completely since that heat wave mid-June, so just raw-dogging whatever temp happens since then, which means most of this week it was about 65-67 in my house

So I guess my question is, what is too high and what are all you non-AC-havers doing? Are most of us sitting at this humidity level or is something funky going on and I should be concerned?

Thanks!

Is this band AI? I live in the US state where they're supposedly based, but I can't find anything online showing history or images of people playing

They're called Heavy Dogs and the only small online presence seems to be on IG. I get the psychedelic vibes they're going for (also I dig it), but now I'm concerned it's not a real band.

Spotify
Instagram

I like the follow smaller bands on Spotify that I've seen live or want to remember, so it makes sense that I may have found them this way. But honestly I'm worried now I found them via an advert.

Where can I find traditional Nicaraguan gallo pinto?

Not just a bowl of rice and beans, IYKYK. I want it a bit crispy, with some queso fresco and hopefully plantains maduros on the side. I see a place in Google Maps, but it's just someone's house (I mean, not against this if that house gonna cook this for me). Anyone know a spot? Thanks!
