Sick pay from day 1?

Hi. Need advice please. Never been off sick before in 4 years but today I feel like death. I’m wondering to coming and try and see how I go, although I don’t feel like I’ll make it through, or should I call in sick. I’m asking as I’ve heard something about sick pay from the first day being a thing now? How does that work? How much do you get? And if I went in and then couldn’t finish the shift, do I not get anything in that case? Any help or advice would be massively helpful as I feel rough as anything and I’m panicking about not making it in, and I need the money as paying off a few things currently. Thanks in advance.

Can’t complain. Well, what’s the point, no bugger listens anyway.

Just this. What else do you hear daily from customers, even worse when it’s the same one saying the same thing every day. Do they forget they’ve said this to you? Do they think you’re that stupid you forget they’ve said this to you a million times already? And how do you react? I personally smile and fake laugh, or fake whatever the correct reaction is to the generic saying they’ve just spouted. I’m actually dying inside one little piece at a time.

Just went to pick up an order that they had decided to split up with another driver. Pedalled all the way there but the other rider (in a car) had picked up the whole order. It was only 40 item and I’ve taken more myself on my bike before now, so don’t know why they chose to split it any way, but not my problem. When I contacted customer service they told me that they knew it had all been taken, and ‘helpfully’ told me I was now unassigned from it. I said great, but what about the fact I’d travelled all the way here, to which he sent me a link and said there’s nothing he could do. That was annoying, but there was nothing I could do about it. It was when he said ‘is there anything else I can help you with’ that left me having to turn off the phone before I got myself sacked. Do they do this to wind you up do you reckon? Anyway. Just wanted to share yet another piece of shite that occurred, another joy of doing deliveries.
