Anyone going to Varakala this weekend?
Me (M25) and my friend (F22) are going to Varkala this weekend from Bangalore. Anyone else planning to go this weekend? Maybe we can meet up and explore Varkala together!

Hi!
I'm 25M, currently working as a Software Engineer at a well-established Indian startup in Bangalore.
A few basics:
• 📍 Bangalore
• Height: 5'6"
• Around 64 kg
• Non-smoker, occasional drink (socially)
• Financially independent with a pretty decent CTC. Grateful for it, but I'd rather not make it my entire personality. 😄
I've been in Bangalore for about a year now. Last year was mostly about work, interview prep, and chasing career goals. Thankfully, that's in a good place now, and I realized I'd been neglecting the "living life" part.
So here I am, giving Reddit a chance.
A little about me
I'm someone who's easy to talk to and enjoys meaningful conversations, terrible jokes, random memes, and spontaneous plans.
On weekends you'll usually find me planning a trek, going on a long bike ride, exploring cafés, trying new food, or simply watching a sunset somewhere. I'm also trying to get back to a consistent gym routine (still winning the battle against laziness 😅).
I value honesty, kindness, emotional maturity, and people who communicate openly.
What I'm looking for
I'm looking for a genuine long-term relationship. If we're compatible and things work out naturally, I'd love for it to lead to marriage.
I'd strongly prefer someone based in Bangalore, since spending time together matters more to me than texting all day.
Profession isn't a deal-breaker, but if you're a Software Engineer (or currently in college and starting your career in the next 1–2 years), we'll probably have plenty to relate to.
More than anything, I'm looking for someone who's kind, genuine, and excited to build something meaningful together.
Let's keep it simple
No pressure or expectations. Let's just have a genuine conversation first and see if we enjoy talking to each other. Everything else can follow naturally.
If this resonated with you, send me a DM. Tell me a little about yourself—what you enjoy doing, your favourite weekend plan, or something that makes you smile.
Worst case? We make a new friend.
Best case? We get to tell people we met on Reddit... and somehow it actually worked. ❤️

One of the best birthdays I've ever had, thanks to the person who went from being a stranger to someone really special in such a short time.
So here’s what happened. I know people will say, "another fake story," but it genuinely isn't.
Yesterday, I posted in this sub asking if anyone was up for visiting ISKCON Temple since it was my birthday and I didn’t have any friends here.
I got so many wishes, and I’m really grateful for every single one of them. Thank you so much!
Then, around 6 PM, I got a text from a stranger. I honestly thought it was another spam message, but it was just, "Heyy, how was your birthday?" We quickly planned to meet, and she said she’d definitely come around 8 PM. It was almost a 50-minute journey for her, and she still came.
We went to Church Street. Two complete strangers. You’d expect it to be awkward, or maybe even one of those restaurant scam situations (I had the same thought 😭), but I don’t know... I genuinely felt she was real and genuine.
When we met, I noticed a flower bouquet in her bag. Again, my brain started making stories 😂. I thought maybe she was coming from some date or something. I mean... that's a pretty normal assumption, right?
Then we went to a bake shop, and she asked, "I’m going to have some dessert. Do you want something?" I said, "Chocolate mousse."
She got only the chocolate mousse.
Then, right there on Church Street, she took out a candle... and that’s when I realized it was for my birthday. 🥹🥹
I blew out the candle, and for the first time that day, it actually felt like something special. It honestly felt like God had been extra kind to me, forgot all His other responsibilities for a day, and somehow all the stars had aligned just for me.
And then came the best moment.
She took out that flower bouquet from her bag and gave it to me.
Man... I was already blushing. (And why wouldn’t I? 😭)
After that, we went somewhere for dinner, had really good food, talked for hours, took a walk on the footpath with tea in our hands... everything genuinely felt like something straight out of a movie.
Then we both went back home, kept talking on chat, and somehow she made my entire day.
I don’t know, man... getting flowers from a girl is always something really special. And I don’t know where this goes from here, but a part of me already wants to give her flowers every single day for the rest of my life, just to return this one gesture.
But yes... it was truly a day well spent.
I don’t know what the future holds, but yesterday was all about cherishing the present.
And yes... it was the best birthday gift I could have ever asked for. ❤️

I’ve been to ISKCON multiple times, and I always feel really calm there. I get a lot of clarity after visiting, it’s all about the positive vibes.
If anyone’s interested in joining me, hmu.
If you’re wondering how to go with a complete stranger, I’m happy to share my LinkedIn over chat for verification.

About me:
M25, working as a Software Engineer at a well-established Indian startup in Bangalore. I'm 5'6", around 64 kg, and I'd say I'm pretty easy to talk to. I enjoy good conversations, have a decent sense of humor (at least that's what my friends say 😅), and I'm the kind of person who can switch between talking about life, random memes, travel plans, or tech.
It's been a year since I moved to Bangalore. Most of my friends are in different cities now, and while my office colleagues are great, everyone has their own life after work. So most weekends end up being pretty boring.
I live alone in a 1BHK, and apart from office, I barely have any human interaction. Last year was mostly about work, interview prep, and chasing career goals. Thankfully, that's settled now, and I realized I've been neglecting the "living life" part.
I'm looking for someone who'd be up for random plans—weekend trips, treks, café hopping, exploring new places, long bike rides, trying new food, attending events, or even just grabbing coffee and talking. It doesn't have to be anything serious or complicated. Even if it's through a trip organizer or a group, that's completely fine. I just want to build a circle of good people to make memories with.
A little more about me:
I know there are a lot of people in Bangalore who feel the same—wanting to go out and explore but ending up staying in their PG or flat because they don't know who to trust.
If you're one of them, feel free to DM me. No expectations. Let's have a conversation first, see if we vibe, and maybe plan something fun.
Life's too short to spend every weekend scrolling reels in a room. 🙂

Looking for a study partner so that I can fix my schedule. I'll mostly be doing LeetCode, System Design, and sometimes office work. You can study whatever you want, but if anyone has similar interests, it would be helpful for both of us.
About me: I'm currently working as a Software Engineer, have solved 500+ LeetCode problems, and want to keep improving myself.
Why in the morning? I also want to start going to the gym again, so studying from 4–7 AM, then hitting the gym, and then heading to the office would be the perfect routine for me.
Being an M, I'd prefer an F to join since you need some motivation to wake up early in the morning. It would also be great if you have similar interests.
If anyone is interested, hmu.
Anyone wants to join?

M25 working as Software Engineer btw.
I've been here for almost a year, but I still feel the same. I went on 4-5 treks, went to board game events, and some public events all alone, but still I wasn't able to make genuine friends here. It's very tough making friends in Bangalore. I would never suggest someone come to Bangalore who doesn't have any known people here.
In the past 1 year, I did interview prep for almost 5-6 months, so I isolated myself from everything (sorry, I didn't have anything else). Yes, you do have colleagues and all, but everyone is working their ass off.
I just wanted to make genuine friends with whom I can plan something on weekends here, but I wasn't able to make a single friend.
I don't know is it just me, or is anyone else feeling the same?
Can't sleep after getting rejected from an interview that I had been actively preparing for over the past month, sacrificing everything else. Now, I don't have anything to do..😭
For the first time in 2-3 months, I don't really have any plans this weekend. If anyone has any plans and wouldn't mind an extra person tagging along, please drag me out of my room 😭
I have Google virtual interviews on Wednesday. The recruiter mentioned that the rounds will be a mix of Domain-Specific (Mobile Development) and DSA, and I also have GL round on the same day.
Does anyone have any suggestions or tips that might be helpful during the interviews?
Also, if anyone has recently gone through the Domain-Specific (Mobile Development) round, I'd appreciate hearing about your experience and the kinds of questions that were asked.
Thanks!
