Anime will do the heavy lifting - as always !

Just read the recent ikemoto interview- man gotta say ikemoto has idea’s but he can’t seem to put in on paper

Most of these questions could have been easily portrayed in the actual manga and not an interview and made it look and feel soo very much better , we would feel the characters the impact and aftermath of omnipotence on hima and Sarada/sakura

Realistically these could have been 8-10 panels over two pages - no dialogue required too -

Now it seems like anime will have to expand on these and well what will manga purists say now ? Is this canon or not ? Who cares

Anime > Manga

Translations

Q: Just as Jiraiya was called the “Pervy Sage,” does Kashin Koji have that tendency as well?

A: Actually, he does. However, while Jiraiya was openly extremely perverted, Kashin Koji is a closet pervert, so he doesn’t show it outwardly. As long as someone is nearby, he probably won’t reveal that side of himself. Even when he’s alone, Eida’s “Senrigan” exists in this world, so he should remain wary of it and avoid letting his true nature slip.

----

Q: Please tell us your favorite male character and female character, Ikemoto-sensei!

A: Sorry this doesn’t really answer the question, but for now it’s a secret. I don’t want readers to be unnecessarily biased, and my opinion of the characters often changes depending on how the story develops at any given time. If there’s an opportunity after the series is finished, it might be interesting to reveal my final personal ranking. Since that alone isn’t much of an answer, the characters I find difficult to draw lately are Kawaki and Chōchō. Conversely, the easiest for me to draw are middle-aged and elderly men.

----

Q: After Omnipotence, what did the people around Sarada think of her words and actions? Also, I’d like to know in detail how Sarada spent those three years.

A: Sumire, who likewise escaped the effects of Omnipotence, deliberately tried to avoid conspicuous words and actions, but Sarada held nothing back and continued telling people the truth exactly as it was. On top of that, with her father Sasuke having left the village together with Boruto, she must have faced extremely harsh treatment from those around her. There were probably things like graffiti on the walls of her house and slander directed at her. To begin with, even before the Omnipotence incident, there were already a certain number of people who thought poorly of Sasuke. Her mother Sakura must have gone through a difficult time as well, but like Sasuke, she continued to stand by Sarada.

----

Q: How did Himawari come to be trained by the three members of Ino-Shika-Chō?

A: After Omnipotence, Himawari was worried about Boruto and sought advice from Sarada, who was taking his side. However, because Sarada was in the situation described above within the current Konoha, the three members of Ino-Shika-Chō became concerned about Himawari and urged her to distance herself from Sarada. Gradually, Himawari began spending more time with Team 10, and in order to become a source of strength for Boruto, she began shinobi training alongside Team 10.

----

Q: Around when did Inojin start to like Himawari?

A: He only started becoming conscious of her recently, likely because they began spending more time together through training and missions. Himawari is capable enough to handle all the household matters by herself and has an independent mindset, so she gives those around her an impression of being more mature than her actual age. Inojin first came to admire those qualities in her, and that admiration gradually developed into romantic feelings.

----

Q: How is the physique of a Shinjuu determined? Is it related to the physique of the human it originates from?

A: Basically, they end up roughly the same size as the human they originated from. However, some Claw Grimes are larger individuals, and those may end up bigger than their original human.

This is everything related to Boruto in this month’s V Jump issue.

Anime original is Canon

Most people tend to disregard it but they are unaware or have forgotten this interview

Which clearly says that manga and anime run parallel to each other which are developed autonomously and at one point will intersect in the end

Now with that in mind it’s safe to say that the anime is the ultimate canon to what and how boruto’s story IS.

Theory about how they might intersect -
Jogan.

Anyways this is taken from an interview back in 2018 (where Kodachi was still part of the team)

- it’s important to note that things have drastically changed now and there are couple of more interviews after this one

- but this as far as I know is the only one which discusses about manga and anime canon-ity

Here’s the summary of the interview

Lucca Comics & Games Interview with Mikio Ikemoto, Hiroyuki Nakano (editor-in-chief of WSJ) and his editor, Mr. Taguchi

• BORUTO is more inspired by NARUTO part 1, less by part 2.

• Kishimoto gave Ikemoto carte blanche regarding character designs, however, Ikemoto believes he "exaggerated a bit too much" with Sarada's design.

• Kishimoto is still heavily involved with the series by defining every concept and initial idea, and supervising Kodachi's / Ikemoto's work.

• According to Ikemoto, BORUTO addresses many issues in today's society (e.g. the right or wrong use of technology). Unlike NARUTO, which focused on loneliness and how to overcome it, BORUTO focuses on how to shake off the inheritance of one's own family.

• Having worked on NARUTO that released weekly, Ikemoto prefers the monthly release of BORUTO.

• Ikemoto would love to work on a movie if they ever produced one "even if it would be complicated". "And in any case everything is still in progress".

• Ikemoto and his staff can not reveal how far the manga is into the story, nor could they reveal anything about Koji's identity.

• The anime has taken an autonomous road with stories that are parallel to the manga stories.

• According to Mr. Taguchi, Kodachi himself is responsible for the screenplay of the anime. "There are six or seven screenwriters, supervised by Ukyo Kodachi.
They create alternative stories and submit them to the Kodachi, if strong scenes happen that could dramatically change the characterization of the characters,
e.g if Boruto had to kill someone, Kodachi comes into play to monitor everything.

• In order to prevent the anime to overtake the manga, the former adds stories parallel to the manga. The anime and manga follow the same path until they intersect in the same point. [That does not mean the anime will skip manga plot points.]

Are their designs really that bad ?

So I have been noticing that people on Reddit - especially the Naruto riders genuinely hate this and most of what they say isn’t even valid

Like how misinformed are y’all ?

What do y’all think tho?

Boruto has come a long way !!

As a character and as a story - it’s endearing and has persevered through soo much - In universe and our reality too

The comparisons
The hate
The trolling

What are the things you love about this series and his character?

The Greatest Character Introduction - Still Holds up !

The decade long hype

Over 250 chapters of buildup

This introduction exceeded that bar , man what a fight !

No other character ever since has matched this hype.

I wish boruto did have any such characters like these or atleast close too-

Looking back at NNG

Kawaki’s introduction was strong but not even close - like the series just doesn’t have that X factor type of thing yet.

I could potentially see Shibai getting this treatment or I wish he does cause he isn’t hyped that much or even brought up ( not even sure if he will be even relevant to the main plot at all )

Other moments I could potentially see reaching this hype (if not character introductions ) are -

1. The omnipotence
2. The jogan
3. Boruto’s return in TBV
4. Boruto vs Jura
5. Amado’s true motive (if he even has one)

What do y’all think ?

u/WhitePho3nix — 12 days ago
▲ 15 r/Boruto

Doesn’t this scene confirm the jogan’s relevancy to the actual story ?

This last scene depicts bolt activating his right eye (JOGAN) which is clearly not a byakugan while Kawaki activates his kokugan

Which is a bit weird that they deliberately included it with it being transitioning to the flash forward where he still has the jogan

If it wasn’t “canon” they would not be going this far considering the last time bolt using jogan was explicitly showed waaaaaaaay back is the Urashiki arc

(And the otsutsuki panel too)

Also it’s funny that bolt in the anime confused it to be a byakugan

Side not - love the overall art and rendering of this scene - hopefully they carry this on in the newer adaptations

Kaguya’s return is 100 % confirmed (Theory)

I was re reading boruto and found this -

The otsutsuki mural/ mountain with the symbols of the otsutsuki pairs

  1. First image ***(chapter 35)***is when sasuke infiltrates the dimension for the first time before their battle with jigen
    - THE CIRCLE IS WHITE - INDICATING THAT ISHHIKI IS STILL ALIVE

  2. Second image ***(chapter 77)***is after Eida and daemon defect to konoha during the cohabitation arc

- THE CIRCLE IS BLACKED OUT - INDICATING THAT ISHHIKI’S SOUL HAS EXTINGUISHED

NOW WE KNOW THAT THE CIRCLE BELOW IS KAGUYA’S AND ITS STILL WHITE ( CAUSE SHE WAS SEALED )
MOMO AND KINSHIKI’S CIRCLES ARE ALSO WHITE (CAUSE FUSED MOMO IMPLANTED THE KARMA ) SO TECHNICALLY BOTH THEIR SOULS ARE STILL INTACT

Now here comes the interesting part - the remaining two murals are outright destroyed but not blacked out like ishhiki’s - so they’re definitely alive atleast their souls are intact

This could mean a plethora of things

- THEY ARE HIDING THEIR PRESENCE
- THEY HAVE LOST THEIR OTSUTSUKI POWERS
- THEY ARE TRAPPED IN ANOTHER DIMENSION
- OR THEY ARE YET TO ARRIVE OR BE CREATED !? WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

u/WhitePho3nix — 20 days ago
▲ 6 r/Boruto

I have a theory on why Kawaki and Jigen’s karma marking so different !

Kawaki has it placed on his palm and jigen on his chin -

But code and boruto have it on their palms

Now akebi was shown to have it one the forehead.

Theory -

  1. even though they are the vessel for the same otsutsuki the site of marking have been different

I believe that a vessel with specifically high compatibility with the otsutsuki will have the karma on their palms - like code bolt and Kawaki of which bolt and Kawaki are perfect vessels while code ended up being a failed on yet with enough compatibility to inherit the strength of otsutsuki without their genetic dna

  1. This is where jigen and Akebi come into picture - they both have karma at an unconventional place that leads or confirms us readers that they are defective vessels.
Now this may lead to an interesting twist -
    - Kawaki agrees to implant karma on Akebi
    - she turns out to be a defective
    - most likely loses her life and ——— unleashes a new otsutsuki or possibly ishhiki ( very unlikely )
    - Amado has had enough and finally loses his cool and goes rogue

Orochimaru and tsunade will return in TBV (Maybe)

This may have been retconned or rethought of in a new way yet to be introduced in tbv

But I feel that this was a great setup to finally tie up things with this jutsu (as shippuden never dwelled that deep into it) and also reintroduce orochimaru and tsunade in the world of boruto

Well I am not sure if this specific panel was talked about but here we are

So was re reading boruto part 1 and kinda found this …

The convo starts with team 7 and Naruto discussing about karma resembling sakura’s forehead mark

And here we see three main things - like a start of new mission

  1. Sarada agrees to find out more about it from Sakura herself

  2. Mitsuki adds in by saying “his parent” also says that it’s mystery is yet to be solved

  3. Boruto asks Kawaki to join him to directly ask from tsunade but he refuses and so him and Mitsuki start the mission to find tsunade and possibly visit orochimaru too

This where things don’t go as planned cause good ol jigen invades hokage’s abode

u/WhitePho3nix — 20 days ago
▲ 22 r/Boruto

So like what happened ?

He’s just forgotten?

Getting that Sai treatment?

Where is orochimaru?

u/WhitePho3nix — 22 days ago
▲ 0 r/Boruto

How strong is Lore accurate Boruto ?

Like what do you mean he can low diff
No limiter code who is stronger than jigen >>naruto and sasuke

And this is all in Base - like his own strength

If he starts using karma stage 1 and stage 2 without momo overtaking his body he’s literally the strongest being below shibai and somewhat equal to ishhiki

And this all still without the jogan

Ego and Sigmund frued !

So Frued describes the human personality in it’s structure and topography as 3 important domains

  1. Super Ego
  2. Ego
  3. Id

Id - it is the primal desire of humans (purely subconscious)
Super ego - the morality of oneself and idealism (is all 3 - conscious, pre conscious, sub conscious)
Ego - the reality from experience and balance between id and super go (is conscious and subconscious)

So considering this explanation we already are aware that ego himself wants to create an anamoly- a way to attain godhood on the field
This depends on every aspect perfectly being in sync - oneself (the flow ) , the teammates and the entire game itself

Mainly achievable when one truly understands his ego - that is understanding the balance between his primal desires and the idealistic morals of the world

To explain it simply this is how each of the characters are inclined to these three sharing all 3 traits but showing one dominant.

Man Minato/Tobirama were really broken !

Source

So after the last chapter boruto really gotta upgrade his FTG man

There’s 2 ways to do it.

  1. Learn the uzumaki seal technique so that he can mark anything like the ogs
    - That effectively removes him using the metal kunai for short distance and specific symbols for long

  2. The sensing part is where I believe comes with experience

BUT WAIT …..

Momo can probably find a better way - he’s always been a crafty lil bastard

My guy literally created a glock-Rasengan on the go , and we know he’s appearance is imminent in the next few chapters…… So

But man wish boruto used more of the glock rasengan or even compression ransengan.

What design would you want the anime to adapt once the Season 2 airs ?

I personally prefer the og anime one.

Looks very raw , shows that those 3 years must have been hellish

The kid who despised the hokage and it’s ways , the one who would not very dirty clothes after missions and always wanted branded and new ones - is literally wearing a rag tag of clothes the same ones he was when he left the village. Adds a lot to his character.

And also the fact the this design is bit easier for the animator’s to work with.
Which also would be more inline with kishimoto’s art style.

The new one looks chaotic - the seals he wears are just cluttered around and messy - maybe something more like a belt with all those seals in one place .

Idk what do y’all think?
