Got round to making a Battle Report, it’s Gela ‘43, featuring French tanks in Italian control attacking US rangers!

I’ve been making (average) YouTube videos for a while and finally got round to making a battle report. It’s the Battle of Gela where US rangers were attacked by R35 tanks and Italian infantry.

It’s more of a historical focus than a points based one, but I have playtested this scenario before!

The next Epic Line from Warlord will be Zulu!

So a few weeks later than they said Warlord have announced that the next epic will be Zulu!

I think this is a good addition to the range. I was expecting either Zulu or Leipzig. I’m sure we’ll see some of the figures on Friday! What’s everyone else thoughts?

Is the Era of the Warlord 10 metal figure squad box over?

A somewhat benign thought today, but given that Warlord's new releases seem to have a particular structure to them in the past 18 months or so, it seems like the 10 man metal squad box seems to be a thing of the past (not that they have been removed, but that we wont get anymore)

With the recent article about next steps for Bolt Action, and the arrival of plastic weapon teams and artillery, it seems that non-plastic releases will be mainly obscure vehicles, command and weapon teams boxes, and crew for the plastic artillery and heavy weapons. Now I certainly welcome the era of plastic. I'm currently having a blast with the Italian Parascudisti box, but I always had a soft spot for the more obscure 10 man metal infantry squads that Warlord have made over the years.

I know that they were loadout and pose limited, but some of the best ones, such as the Tropical Fallschimjager as pictured, as well as the Kreigsmarine and Royal Naval Sections, were nice figures for a niche squad type. Now I know that there are other great manufacturers out there (Empress, Artizan, Offensive etc) but feels a bit like an end of an era.

Having completed a big step in my Epic Pike and Shotte project, I made a video with all the tips and tricks I have learnt on the way.

Having completed a big step in my Epic Pike and Shotte I've made a video with all the tips and tricks I've learnt in the way, both gaming and painting!

Still not fully complete, but the sets are marathons not sprints!

I think we are due the new Epic announcement this week, so in some ways I hope I'm not too interested in it

I was lucky to pick up a box of the new Plastic British Automated infantry. I painted 2 up to match my British in Italy and made a short guide on the scheme!
