A character - by Whizzpopasaurus

I've just started using the program, and am really enjoying it. Was trying to do a little character illustration for a story idea, but am thinking it looks almost like some AI stuff. I'm happy with how it turned out, but wonder if it looks generated to anyone else...and if there's any suggestions how to fix/avoid that.

Edit - reposted to include the artist's name in the title

Black and white ilustrations?

I'm curious what everyone thinks about black and white art in children's books. Is it something you think would captivate kids the same way bright colours do? Or would they find it uninteresting? These are a couple things I did to learn how to use india ink like watercolours.

Crab and Seagulls, brush pen and india ink, by me

Here are a couple things I did a while back, playing around with india ink for the first time. Both are 9x12". Brush pens are such a fun way to add variety in lineweight. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Opinions, please!

I've never written stories before, but had an idea stuck in my head long enough that something had to be done about it. Any critique that will help me improve is appreciated!

Also, is there a preferred site for sharing work? Itch.io technically has a book section, but it really is mainly for games.

It's a short story (<3000 words) about a miserable guy becoming a vampire. It's a little crude, but I tried to keep it humorous.
