RAV4 Prime sleeping platform

I’ve still got a lot to do, but my sleeping platform is coming together. It’s going to be tight, but comfortable.

How to deal with stairs for a large dog?

My 5yo 90lb pit mix started showing signs of back pain a couple of days ago, after a trip to the dog park. I ended up taking him to the ER yesterday, as the pain wasn’t getting better. At the ER, I was told that he has IVDD, although he still hasn’t got any scans - I plan on taking him to his normal vet when they open on Monday. Until then, he is on the normal meds and will be hating life in his crate. My main issue is that at 90lbs, he is very hard for me to carry, and I have a lot of stairs to my townhouse. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get a large dog up and down stairs, without causing further damage?

I’m making a sleeping platform for my car and ended up using a leftover piece of cedar for the rear crossmember. I’d like to round off the ends of it for aesthetic reasons. What’s the best way to go about doing this? I was originally thinking of using a router, but I’d like a more gradual curve than a router will be able to do.

Any smart folk out there that want to help me with my dumb question?

I’m building a wooden sleeping platform for my SUV. The vehicle has four factory tie-down anchor points in the cargo floor - one near each corner, though they’re not perfectly at the corners. The two rear anchors sit a few inches behind the rear legs of the platform, and the two front anchors sit a few inches behind the front legs.

My plan is to use ratchet straps from eyebolts mounted on the platform frame down to these four floor anchors. The platform has a perimeter frame with cross members, so I have some flexibility in where exactly I put the eyebolts.

My question is purely about optimal eyebolt placement on the frame: where should the attachment points be, and does the angle of the strap relative to the floor matter? The main forces I’m trying to resist are the platform sliding toward the tailgate and any rocking or tipping.

Is there a mechanically optimal position, or does it not matter much as long as it’s strapped down at all four points?
