I’m in love with my older brothers best friend, but I don’t know if he feels the same.

So the title is pretty self explanatory. For the past year I’ve been in love with my older brothers best friend. For context I’m F19 and he’s M24.

Him and my brother have been friends since childhood and are extremely close. I see him practically every other day.

I don’t drive so usually my brother picks me up from training (I figure skate) last week though my brother was working so his best friend picked me up instead. They had arranged it and I didn’t know until my brother texted me just as I was leaving the rink. When I saw him outside in his car my heart nearly stopped beating. I was soooo nervous. When I was younger I was completely normal around him but now I’m like jelly.

Anyways I got in the car and he took me home, but when we were at the front of my house we stayed in his car for a bit just talking about life and stuff. It was all normal conversation, but I just felt like he was trying to keep me in the car for longer. If that makes sense.

I’m so stuck because on one hand I don’t want to hurt my brother, but I also want to explore where this could take me, and continue talking to his best friend when I can. I’ve been avoiding him lately because I really don’t know what to do!!

The man at the crossroad.

This is my first time sharing this story, so bear with me, also my English isn’t the greatest so ignore any spelling or grammar errors.

This happened roughly three years ago, in my home-country. My childhood home sat on the corner of a crossroad, in a quiet neighbourhood.

When I was 16, I had a bad habit of stealing my brothers cigarettes and climbing on the roof to smoke, and on this night my routine was the same, sneak into his work pants he’d left in the laundry and take one cigarette, and place the pack perfectly back so he wouldn’t suspect a thing.

Just like always, I’d launch myself from the fence to a beam to the roof and spend the next half hour up there. When I got up I lit my cigarette, took a few breaths in until I noticed a figure in the corner of my eye. As I looked, my eyes adjusting to the dark, I realised it was a man.

This man walked very slowly up to the crossroad, from the street opposite my house. He was tall, dressed in what I remember to be a fancy suit, and had dark hair, he also held a briefcase.

I sort of ducked down, still looking from the roof to the man, I’d long forgotten about my cigarette.

The man stood there, placed the briefcase down, looked down the crossroad, slowly left and right, then there was a pause, then, very very very slowly (I can’t even describe how slow he was moving, like he was walking in tar) he picked up the briefcase, looked down the crossroad, and then turned, and continued to walk the way he came.

I just sat there stunned by what I’d seen for a good ten minutes. It wasn’t until the sound of crickets came back that I’d realised they’d stopped chirping in the first place.

To this day I can’t explain what I saw. Yes what I was smoking was a cigarette I’m sure of it. Does anyone have any idea of who/what I may have seen?

I grew up with a Christian mother and Muslim father, ask me anything

Hi all. I have a Christian mother (Orthodox) and a Muslim father (Sunni)

I receive a lot of raised eyebrows when I tell people my name, I have an orthodox first name and Muslim last name, and people always seem shocked.

So here I am, no filter, feel free to ask me anything))
